OH dggfwtx -
Love the pictures. I had the most wonderful Pyr's in the world. Her name was Chloe. When my husband and I divorced and sold our property, I bought a mobile home. One of the most difficult things in the world for me was to realize I had to find a home for Chloe. Very good friends that had a ranch in Jackson, CA offered to take her. It has been over five years, but I cannot see a Great Pyrenees or a picture without sobbing my heart out. Yes obedience challenged, made up for with a heart of gold. Chloe is still guarding the lifestock at the ranch, still running the perimeter of the fields and is still a very regular reminder to me that sometimes the best love of all is to let go and do what is best for the other.
Thank you again for sharing your pictures.
I'm glad that Chloe is doing the job she was bred to do (Great Pyrenees are livestock guardians, i.e., they protect sheep and goats from predators like coyotes).
They aren't a breed for everybody. They're big, they bark a lot, they can be hardheaded, and they shed A TON.
But they are sweet-natured, laid-back, great with people, and they get under your skin. For most people, once you've had one, you are addicted to the breed.
