As a NARAL Pro-Choice America supporter, you are one of the first people to see the poll results. You can read the poll release and the complete summary here.

Then, tell five friends how they can get this insider information. Here are some of the key findings from our polling effort:

Roughly three quarters of likely voters (77%) agree that the government and politicians should stay out of a woman's personal and private decision whether or not to have an abortion.

Two-thirds of voters disapprove of the laws passed in South Dakota and Louisiana that would ban abortion in nearly all circumstances, even for victims of rape and incest or women whose health is at risk.

65% of voters feel less favorable toward candidates who support allowing pharmacists to refuse to fill birth-control prescriptions.

61% of voters feel more negative toward a candidate who opposes making emergency contraception available in emergency rooms for rape and incest victims.

61% of voters disapprove when they hear Congress has voted 145 times in the last 10 years to restrict reproductive-health services, including abortion and birth control.
As you can see, Americans are unified over the issues of freedom, privacy, and personal decision-making. Now, we have even more research to share with pro-choice candidates and activists like you who can spread the pro-choice message between now and November. With your continued support, we can galvanize Americans who stand with us and get them to the polls to vote for pro-choice candidates.

Thank you for all you do to protect a woman's right to choose.

Sincerely,

Nancy Keenan
President

Tell Evan Bayh you will not support him in 2008.

I don't know why but I think this polling data is probably skewed. I would tend to believe an idependent poll on these topics rather than a NARAL poll.

I would like to see a poll specific to late term abortion.

So do one. Get out your phone book (do not look at address's) and call them.
I wouldn't even ask if they are registered voters just over age of majority. (don't want to get in trouble with parents).

Call at least 100 people. Personally I would say 100 women but you could make it 50 men and 50 women.
ask your question and report back what you find out.
I am anxious to hear what you find out.

Remember people socialize and go to church in their comfort zones so the people you ask should not be in any of your comfort social or religious zones.

Tell Al Gore that you won't support him in 2008.

Al Gore, for the record, has been MUCH more anti-abortion than Evan Bayh. Hands down.

"Policy positions

In 1977, Gore voted for the Hyde Amendment to prevent federal funding of abortion. Due to votes such as this one, Gore's Congressional voting record through the late 1980's was rated by the National Right to Life Committee as 84% anti-abortion. In 1984, in a letter from then-Congressman Al Gore dated 1984-07-18 to a constituent, Gore is quoted as saying

"It is my deep personal conviction that abortion is wrong. I hope that some day we will see the current outrageously large number of abortions drop sharply. Let me assure you that I share your belief that innocent human life must be protected. In my opinion, it is wrong to spend federal funds for what is arguably the taking of a human life…." [41]

Gore did not start consistently voting pro-choice until 1988. [8] Gore explained the purported contradiction in his record by distinguishing his view on federal funding of institutions performing abortions from his view on the legality of abortion, "I voted to restrict federal funding of abortions [, but] I've always supported Roe v. Wade. I've always supported keeping abortions legal...." [9]"

"Ban partial-birth abortions, except for maternal health

GORE: On the issue of partial-birth or so-called late-term abortion, I would sign a law banning that procedure, provided that doctors have the ability to save a women’s life or to act if her health is severely at risk. [But] the main issue is whether or not the Roe v. Wade decision is going to be overturned. I support a woman’s right to choose; my opponent does not."

C'mon, g4a, BRING IT!

Evan Bayh got a 0 rating from them in 2006
and a 50 percent rating from them in 2003

Show me reports from the last four years. Al Gore has voted positively the last 18 years. Evan Bayh has voted one year after another aginst women and their right to privacy.
It's what people do as they evolve. Not what they have done in their youth.

Evan Bayh got a 0 rating for trying to get rid of the first amendment along with abortion this year by banning forms of protest like flag burning.

0 percent rating in 2006, 50 percent rating in 2003. No important vote in 2004 and 2005. Failure=Evan Bayh, who is on the far right side of Joe Lieberman on any issue. Even Dan Quayle is more progressive.
