Readers may be interested in Jim Bamford's article "Iran: The Next War" in the current issue of the Rolling Stone. It may be read as a companion piece to Sy Hersh's recent article in the New Yorker. To my mind the open question is not whether there are factions in Washington that want an attack on Iran. There is no secret about this. The key question is how influential these factions are. I am not sure that we know this yet. The article contains many reference to the former Pentagon official Douglas Feith. He was introduced yesterday, I understand, as a Professor of International Relations at the Georgetown School of Foreign Service.
