SECAUCUS— The headline might be a little expansive since the national headquarters has not yet echoed it, but it's still pretty impressive as it is:
"Kerry/Edwards Campaign Joins Ohio Recount."
The news release was issued this afternoon over the signature of Ohio's Democratic chairman, Dennis White: "As Senator Kerry stated in his concession speech in Boston, we do not necessarily expect the results of the election to change, however, we believe it necessary to make sure everyone's vote is counted fairly and accurately." White called for witnesses, volunteers, and donations.
The statement ends nearly three weeks of official Democratic ambivalence towards the formal recount process in the election's decisive state. As late as Friday, Senator Kerry's email to 3,000,000 supporters contained a seemingly ambiguous reference to that process, which began with the phrase "Regardless of the outcome of this election, once all the votes are counted, and believe me they will be counted, we will continue to challenge the administration...........go to link for full story.

It's about time some Democrat in some kind of official position said something about it. I don't understand why the Dems are so cautious about calling for a real effort to make sure everyone's vote is counted accurately...Of course, counting the votes is only a part of the problem...There are the machines with no paper trails, the intimidation of voters at polls, the inexcusable 9 hour lines at polling places, the voting machines that continued to show a vote for Kerry even when the voter tried to vote for Kerry numerous times.....

I have no doubt that John Kerry has been totally involved behind the scenes all along. I was just going to vote for Kerry to get rid of Bush, until I started checking, and after months of following John Kerry's life, I have come to realize he is one of a kind, especially in politics, and the whole world is a better place because of the marks he has made. I have also come to realize that he is a VERY intelligent man, and if there is any way to beat Bush and the media, he will do it, and do it with class.

I agree totally. I was also in that camp in the beginning, but grew to see what a great President he would/should be. Let's hope and pray this recount saves us from four more years of shrub.

I'd guess they probably don't expect any change of outcome, but figure it's good to do anyway, for two reason: firstly, it's good to show your supporters and opposers alike that you don't just throw up your hands, role over and take it -- you insist that all the facts are made known, regardless the outcome. Secondly, ya never know. Maybe it will turn the vote, and you've got nothing to lose by seeing it through.

It's not a matter of either/or. We need both. You cannot get a revote before proving fraud. Ed posted the statutes that pertain to this on another thread.
A recount may help reveal more evidence of fraud. OR, it may reveal that KERRY & EDWARDS ACTUALLY WON!

Kerry/Edwards Campaign Participates Ohio Recount Ohio Democratic Party Seeks Volunteers to Help Recount.
COLUMBUS – Assuring Ohioans receive an accurate count of all votes cast for president has prompted the Democratic Party to participate in the initiative to recount the results of the Nov. 2 presidential election.
“As Senator Kerry stated in his concession speech in Boston, we do not necessarily expect the results of the election to change, however, we believe it necessary to make sure everyone's vote is counted fairly and accurately,” said Dennis White, Ohio Democratic Party chair.
This is good news. I am still going to wait and see what happens.

By the way. I need to pick up a few things so that, in the event my computer gets seized, I don't lose a whole lot of time being unable to get my work done. Unfortunately, a recount is meaningless without paper ballots or a paper trail. We can push the 'add' button a hundred times and the result will always be the same........ which is why I think it is imperative that the public demand paper trails at ALL levels of voting.

Okay, how do you figure honeymoon??? Feels more like rape to me. He's screwed up Iraq, more than it was, rumbling toward big changes in Social Security, can't get the intelligence bill through, and the consumer price index rate rose at the highest percentage in 14 years. I wont be surprised if Alex says something about the recount.
She's pretty outspoken. They do really well with interviews BUT they have to be careful and I'm sure they are still being advised on what to say and not to say... so maybe not. Glad to see Activisms has not been banned for blowing up on a freeper!
