I'm trying to find a documentary that I saw on (I believe) PBS many years ago--maybe back in the late-'80s/early '90s.

If I remember, the basic theme was about "true cost": making decisions based on the long-term implications in a true bottom-line calculation (e.g. a health care plan denying $100 coverage for a doctor's visit for and arache--but ending up paying $10,000 to pay for an operation when the ear becomes badly infected).

I've been thinking of the points this documentary made, and I'd like to see it again because I think the theme is very relevant to our environmental situation today.

Anybody else remember this one? I believe it was narrated by Martin Sheen (again--the memory's a bit shaky).

Thanks in advance.
