I wanted to start this thread and will be posting more as I get details. I'm hearing through some of my peers that the benefits are cut off after a period of time based on your household income.

Now I'm not sure what the long term affects of my being in Iraq did for me. I'm in pretty good health today.

And I'm not one to bitch and cry over trivial matters; nor one to take advantage and use the system.

But my country sent me and a boatful of others over seas to fight for their country and is continuing to do so.

Cutting a person off from benefits based on their current wages doesn't seem to hold water to me. Was my contribution any less than the man I fought beside?

We are all veterans after all.

Is two years adiquete time to receive benefits for a year overseas. Seems only just now the folks that were working at ground zero are in need of care. I'm not saying I was exposed to carcinogins in Iraq but I damn sure don't know. Knowing that I've got a deadline to report it to the VA doesn't give me a warm and fuzy either.

Thanks for serving Soldier, don't bother showing up at the VA after X days.

More to come.
