Haven't heard anything on what is happening in New Hampshire. Any word yet on progress?

KO reported last night that the recounts had very little variance from the originally reported counts.

QUOTE
OLBERMANN:  I mentioned the Ohio recount tonight, a legal decision that would affect not whether it happens, but when it would begin.  A federal judge has denied the Green and Libertarian Party‘s bid for a preliminary injunction that would force the state to start the recount early enough that it would be completed before December 7.  That is the day Ohio‘s electors are certified to vote at the Electoral College.

The Glibs are considering an appeal.  Whether or not they get it, as Ohio Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell told Howard Fineman of “Newsweek” and MSNBC last night, there will in fact be a recount in Ohio.

There is already one in New Hampshire.  And so far the state is getting straight A-pluses.  Recounts have been completed in three of the nine localities requested by independent candidate Ralph Nader.  So far, the two counts differ by only 15 votes.  The work in two wards of Manchester, New Hampshire, and the town of Litchfield, New Hampshire, have covered more than 12,000 ballots.

A software company owner convinced Nader to file for the recount after John Kerry led exit polling by double digits, but won the state vote by just 1.3 percent.  Her interpretation of the data suggested unexplained voting fluctuations in areas with optical scan voting.  So far, that fluctuation is at a rate of .0013.

Nothing new on Nader's website, just a link to a USA Today story from 11/19 - http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/techpoli...h-recount_x.htm

Ralph Nader-requested recount to resume Monday
November 24, 2004

CONCORD, N.H. --A recount requested by independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader in some New Hampshire towns is scheduled to resume Monday.

Nader paid $2,000 to start a recount of 11 of the state's 126 precincts that use optical vote-scanner machines after an analysis showed wide differences in voting trends between the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections.

Election officials hope to finish recounts in all 11 precincts by Tuesday. Assistant Attorney General Bud Fitch said the campaign has paid an additional $12,000 to cover those days.

Last week, ballot counters only finished two precincts, one in Manchester and the other in Litchfield. They showed little change from the official tallies.

Ukraine poll crisis deepens
Wednesday, November 24, 2004 Posted: 10:06 AM EST(1506 GMT)

The final results of the Ukraine's controversial presidential election are expected to be announced this morning. Meanwhile, tens of thousands of supporters of candidate Viktor Yushchenko are massing in the nation's capital for a third day of protests. Election officials say Yushchenko is trailing candidate Viktor Yanukovych. But exit polls indicate Yushchenko is the winner and many Western nations say the election did not meet democratic standards.

The NH recount has resulted in one state senate race flipping from red to blue. Previously, the winner was the Repub by 32 votes. After the recount, the Dem won by 4 votes. Not sure of the names involved, but the dem was a woman and the repub was a man, and it was in Hillsborough county.
