Tonight's pretty quiet, you might be bored and need a change of pace, eh? If that's the case methinks y'all are gonna love this!

Seems Antiwar.com, CounterPunch, TruthOut, Alter.net or any of the other various sources seemingly favored by so many here ain't the only places you can find pretty wild conjecture. Accordin' to this story the Coast Guard, accompanied by a Marine Expeditionary Unit embarked in the Iwo Jima strike group, and the Enterprise carrier battle group, both of which ain't even in, or even near the area any more, and a few other forces that are still there are gonna invade Iran!

Just to demonstrate how well informed the author, Mike Whitney, ain't it also describes "Expeditionary Strike Group 5 with multiple attack vessels led by aircraft carrier USS Boxer", but Boxer's not an aircraft carrier! She's a big deck amphibious assault ship, eh? He also indicates forces from Germany, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Greece, The Netherlands, France, Belgium, Turkey, and Bulgaria ready to take part. Oh yeah, that'll happen!

My goodness, this is so far out I couldn't make it up, even if I was wearin' a tin foil hat, eh? Just the same methinks, knowin' how some folks here think, 'tis possible some might actually take it seriously. Heck, I can even imagine it bein' discussed seriously in the Café.

Doc, we're waiting to do this as soon as the draft is up and running.

I guess someone who has never seen an aircraft carrier might mistake the Boxer for one. Mike Whitney ain't French is he? I think the Boxer might be about the same size as that thing the French try to pass off as an aircraft carrier.

The link takes me to BizarroWorld, but nothing about invading Iran. But I have it from reliable sources that this whole invasion scheme was dreamed up on the grassy knoll... whistling.gif

Methinks you didn't read "Cheney's Revenge" all the way through. You'll see it.

"BizarroWorld" is a good name for it though, and it seems to tie in with the conspiracy type thread was here a while back 'bout pilots on the Eisenhower rantin' 'bout deployin' early and how they'd refuse to fly attack missions on Iran. That thread seems to've gotten buried in all this other stuff though, eh?
