I know there's alot of my fellow posters who go to YouTube to check out their videos but here's an article i wanna post and then some questions.

First the article.

So what's everyone's take on these companies (ex.Viacom,Fox,WWE,etc) going after YouTube and other video sites on copyright infringement and should congress step in and come up with a bill to protect these video blogs like YouTube from the corporate goiliath companies and force them to back off when they show these videos.

I was reading somewhere else today that there will probably be a revenue sharing compromise reached in which Google makes some money out of the deal and the videos will eventually return. I'll sure miss them until then. So many of my favorite posters have been completely taken down since this summer due to one reason or another (and I'm not talking about porn).

I love the music videos, so many different genres and time periods, stuff you really can't find. I just wish I could get to some of them for use at school so the students can see the culture - the clothes, music, dancing - as well as listen to the music.

It should not be free.

The artists need to not have their music stolen or their videos stolen.
There are systems in place and this is not like someone making a tape from their cd or putting their tape recorder up against the radio like was done in the 60s.

After all, most (99percent) of singers/actors make little money as is, and they do have to eat and pay their bills.

Whatever your profession is, do you give away your time/hard work for free, except in limited times?

(and this does not stop a person from making their own videos/music and putting on their You Tube sites. Just not ones where there is a problem.)
