I heard on Lou Dobb's show that 20% of the prison population in the border states are illegal immigrants. In that specific prison where Ramos is located, that would amount to about 350 inmates. Also, the inmates responsible for the beating repeatedly yelled, "La Migra." BS.

Ex-Border Patrol agent beaten in prison
Posted 2/6/2007

EL PASO (AP) — A former Border Patrol agent who was convicted of shooting a drug smuggling suspect and then lying about it has been beaten by fellow inmates in prison.

Prison officials on Tuesday confirmed assertions by a congressman and relatives of Ignacio Ramos. He was attacked Saturday night after his case was described on the TV show "America's Most Wanted," the officials said.

Ramos suffered minor cuts and bruises, U.S. Bureau of Prisons spokeswoman Traci Billingsley said in a statement.

Ramos has been moved to the special housing unit at the medium- and low-security federal prison in Yazoo City, Miss., where he is serving time, Billingsley said.

The convictions of Ramos and fellow former agent Jose Alonso Compean sparked outcry from critics who argued that the men were merely doing their job defending the border against criminals.

U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., a vocal supporter of the agents and opponent of illegal immigration, criticized the Bush administration Tuesday for failing to protect Ramos and demanded a full presidential pardon for the two men.

"Not only did the administration choose the side of a foreign dope runner over the agents who stopped him from smuggling a load of drugs into the county — now they've failed to protect that agent while his case is on appeal," he said in a statement.

The incident is being investigated, and the four inmates believed to have been involved have been separated from other inmates, Billingsley said.

Ramos and Compean, who reported to prison in January, were each sentenced to more than a decade behind bars. Compean is serving his sentence at the Elkton Federal Correctional Institution in Ohio; no problems have been reported with his detention.

The agents were convicted last year of shooting Osvaldo Aldrete Davila in 2005 near El Paso and then trying to cover up the incident. Davila was shot once in the buttocks.

Ramos' wife, Monica Ramos, told The Associated Press on Tuesday that her husband described being attacked late Saturday, when he "let his guard down." She said the attackers kicked and stomped him for several minutes.

He was able to identify one man in the group, Monica Ramos said.

They should free all of the illegal aliens and because they were in these concentration camps, immediately give them full citizenship.

And have unlimited immigration.

You gotta be kidding me.

No, what they should do is quit costing the government money, and send their arses back accross the border. The fact that there are illegal immigrants in our prisons, costing our government plenty of money, is unbelieveable.

I think you need to come to Arizona, Southern California, New Mexico, or Texas, and see what we're seeing over here.

There is one bad apple in every bunch.

If there are how many millions of illegal aliens, and say 1000 are not good people, that is a far better pecentage than the # of members of the Bush family, and how many of them are
crooks.
Any of them in jail? They all should be.

There are plenty of citizens who are in jail too. Most people who rape 15 year olds are citizens. They also rape 14, 13, 12, 11, 10 year olds too. Boys and girls.

Maybe we should deport everyone.

the people you are afraid of don't sneak across the border.

They have governmental clearence to come here (like the phantom Ahta they pictured coming through the gate.)

They are not some nice person who comes looking for a day job, and waits once a week on line at the post office just to send his mama a money order so she can feed the rest of her
family, and their scruffy, skin and bones dog.

Since when did i say i was afraid of anyone? I don't recall saying that. Maybe one should learn to not put words in other people's mouths, eh?

I don't have a problem with anyone coming here legally, no problem at all. But, i do have a problem with those who are coming here illegally. After all, they don't call it illegal immigration for nothing. If they want to come here, then they can wait in line like the rest of the folks who are doing it the right way. There is no excusing this. Illegal is illegal.

So is jaywalking. Let's deport everyone in NYC who jaywalks

So is drinking on a Sunday morning. Let's deport everyone in the USA who drinks on Sunday morning.

There should be no border at all, and just have free back and forth...if anything, why pick on our friends to the south? More dangerous people sneak over from Canada.

There's a difference between someone jaywalking and coming accross the border illegally. Regardless, if we find an illegal, we have to deal with him/her and not impose complete amnesty.

I'ed sure like to see a factual source that backs up your claim about more dangerous people coming over from Canada. I don't think you realize how many drugs are being passed through, the border to the South, and how many crime related activities occur on both sides of the Southern border, not to mention the fact that there are Mexican gangs alive and well working the border. Oh, yeah, we also cannot forget about terrorism. Once again, walk out of Liberal NJ, and live in the shoes of someone from TX, NM, AZ, or CA.

http://www.infowars.com/articles/world/mex...r_to_border.htm

Walters says Mexican drug lords are calling the shots in what the United Nations estimates is a $142-billion-a-year business in cocaine, heroin, marijuana, methamphetamine and other illicit drugs on America's streets. One consequence of the new dominance of the Mexican cartels is a spike in violence along the 2,000-mile U.S.-Mexico border, where rival cartels are battling law enforcement authorities and one another for control of transit corridors.

This week, Govs. Bill Richardson of New Mexico and Janet Napolitano of Arizona declared emergencies along their borders with Mexico, claiming counties there are reeling from growing drug trafficking, violence and illegal migration.

Chabat says Mexico's most powerful drug gangs are: The Gulf cartel headed by Osiel Crdenas; the Sinaloa cartel run by Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzmn; the Tijuana cartel led by Ramn Arellano-Félix; and the Jurez cartel run by Vicente Carrillo.

Cocaine and heroin bound for the USA typically are flown by small plane from Colombia to Mexico, while marijuana and methamphetamine are produced in Mexico, says Ron Brooks, president of the U.S. National Narcotics Officers Association in West Covina, Calif.

From Mexico, drug shipments usually are loaded onto boats or into private cars and commercial trucks crossing the border. (U.S. Border Patrol statistics show that 90 million private vehicles and 4.4 million trucks crossed from Mexico into the USA in 2004.)

The U.S. Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs says up to 90% of the cocaine sold in the USA last year came through Mexico. Mexico is also the No. 2 maker of heroin bound for the USA and the largest foreign source of marijuana and producer of methamphetamine.

Mexican criminal groups now control sales in the 13 metropolitan areas considered to be the USA's primary distribution centers, says the bureau's latest report, released in March.

Nuevo Laredo, a city of 350,000 across the Rio Grande from Laredo, Texas, has been hit hardest by the drug war violence this year. Of 850 killings that Mexican police attributed to drug-related violence, 228 have taken place in Nuevo Laredo or the surrounding state of Tamaulipas. In Nuevo Laredo, the murder victims have included 21 police officers and two police chiefs.

“There really is a feeling that you can get away with murder in Nuevo Laredo,” Michael Yoder, the U.S. consul general in Nuevo Laredo, said last week. Tony Garza, U.S. ambassador to Mexico, closed the U.S. consulate in Nuevo Laredo for a week earlier this month after a shootout between Mexican drug traffickers firing high-powered rifles, rocket-propelled grenades, and bazookas.

In 2000, police here carried out 40 major drug busts. This year, so far, there have been 200.

You are so F&*^%$(G clueless!

Come to Houston and drive down Westpark. If you survive the hordes of "Guest workers" swarming your car than you can talk.
Or you can go to the Heights where I work and see the crowds congregating around convienience stores drinking and trashing the area.

If you thought before posting maybe someone would take you seriously.

If you notice, the administration spokesman confirmed that the agent has been placed in the "special housing unit" in a low or medium security prison since the incident. As a long term resident of our federal prison system I am here to clue you in as to what the "special housing unit" is in any prison. It is most commonly called "the hole" and in many cases "protective custody". Inmates are kept isolated from the general population in a cell for 23 hours per day. They are allowed 1 hour a day out for exercise in a caged area approximately 10 feet x 10 feet with no exercise equipment. No one desires "special housing". In prison terminology just about any term that sounds as though it may be desirable or beneficial to the inmate was intentionally given a more pleasant sounding term as a way to further humiliate the prisoner.

"Well, the {immigration} agent said he's been in the business for 21 years and this is one of the largest operations he's seen," says Union City Police Chief Joe Garner.

On Friday, Union City officers pulled over a man for not wearing his seat belt. The man had no identification and gave police a fake name.

It turns out that he's an illegal alien, and a search warrant of his home at 724 mercer street led police to piles and piles of everything needed to make fake driver's license's, birth certificates, and social security cards; all being mass produced and sold for a profit.

"The amount that they have and, going from washington state to new york state, there's no telling how many of these ID's have been sold," says Chief Garner.

Five other illegal Mexican men were arrested at the home.

G4A - You act as though the downtrodden are virtuous just because they're downtrodden. Illegal immigration is unfair to American workers. I don't care how many studies are done that say otherwise. It also is unfair to the Mexican people. Their country has a safety valve that allows many of their people to escape poverty and yet they don't ever seem to do anything to solve the problems that cause people to come north in the first place. And, our country can get away with paying people in certain occupations a lower wage than they would get if we didn't have people coming over here illegally. Cheap labor, the boon to all capitalist masters.

the illegal drug runner who got shot was also arrested again before the trial the da kelp it quite

i could post something everyday from this part of ky about the illegal mexicans

could have been over there, But both agencies took it a step further. Working together they found clues inside the house that led them to Mayfield, where the biggest bust went down.

There the drug units found the root of the drug problem. They say he’s one of the largest drug dealers in our area, Pedro Jarguin.

Inside Jarguin's Mayfield apartment over $20,000 in cash, half a pound of meth, and a gun.

Steve Hendley, Mayfield police, "The meth business will probably be a little slow this week.”

Proving the point that it is crucial that drug units no matter what badge a person wears must work together to take drugs off the streets.

Hendley, "They call we go. We call they come."

Lol. I'm not saying that it's not bad everywhere else, but on average, one would be more inclined to believe so. I was more trying to explain how the Southern border is much more of a problem than our Northern border. I live more toward the central party of AZ, and it appears to be pretty bad. I couldn't even imagine what Beamer goes through, living in San Diego and all.

Absolutely nothing. Everyone but Lou Dobbs and a few border state conservatives are spineless or clueless on this issue.

With most of the press, half of the Republicans, and all of the Democrats in Congress looking the other way, the message will be loud and clear. Don't enforce our illegal immigration laws.
