Huffpo says they think Dickless will resign 'for health reasons' within three weeks.

So I've raided my virtual piggy bank and scrapped together $1 Billion, mostly in pennies and nickles, to wager on this. It's in two parts: What day will he resign (or leave office, however that might happen) ? And who will Shrub nominate to replace him?

I don't think it's gonna happen in three weeks, so here's my bet:

The first Friday in November, 11/2/07
and as much as I would like to think Ron Paul would be Chimp's choice (ya sold me, Frenchy!) he's not in The Inner Party. I'll go with Condi.

It's not going to happen. But if it does, I say the friday before Memorial Day in May...

But if it does, my vote for new VP will be James Baker, or quite possibly Bush41 will take the interim position (as he only served one term as president and could)

They cannot possibly get any controversial choice through, and would not put Condie or Jeb or Newt under oath (one would think)

Being a vice president makes one immortal, so it would not be out of the realm to give James Baker that opportunity for immortality
After all, there are only 80 something total presidents/vice presidents

It would be nice to think they would give it to Al Gore, then when Bush is ousted, Gore could become president without running at all (nice dream).

Since Cheney is the power and Bush the figurehead I think they have to resolve and clean up in the VP wing first.
If the Senate is smart they need to start VP power hearings before the shredders go into overtime.
I say he will be admitted to Bethesda for follow up and then will resign while in the hospital.
News focus will switch to who will replace him and he will relocate to an undisclosed location.
So I think whenever it will be after he is admitted to hospital on a Friday. The next week or over the weekend after being admitted he will submit his resignation.
Now remember a thrombosis especially deep vein is dangerous and in a man who has had 6 heart attacks and a pass maker to regulate his hearts electrical system he was dead years ago.
My favorite picture is of him running after Bush after a press conference. That is when I became convinced he was a clone.

And G4A- your logic behind Baker is good, but Shrub ain't as bright as his father; Baker is not part of The Inner Party.

But Bill and Hillary are, and they are a patient lot who will wait 8 years for Jeb to come in, and keep everythig operational in the background (and make billions and billions more). 8 years from now they will hope nobody remembers anyting and besides, they will bet Jeb is not connected to W.

People are stupid.
