I'm not sure if you're talking about RA or CGCS as a whole.
Yeah, I'm not sure what he is referring to either.
I don't know about RA, but my feelings toward CGCS have changed somewhat. When I first joined the Kerry forum, I was a lot more -- "idealistic," I think would be the right word. I was idealistic about him and had the idea that what I said on that forum might make a difference. In the end, what I said didn't matter. But, I met some very cool and interesting people, and I had it in my mind that I would put my effort, along with them, into creating a more progressive Democratic Party. But, the more I read about the Democrats, and the way things are in the political world, the more "realistic" I started to become.
Then, some of the cool and interesting CGCS people started hanging around less. There were fewer interesting discussions (for me, anyway). I hadn't been that into the social part of CGCS, so I started doing Chat and meeting some of the "regulars." For a while, that was a blast too. We had some really great, very heartfelt discussions, sometimes very late into the night. Then, Chat became unavailable on this forum, and we had to hold Chat over at Cardinal's place. It still maintained a lot of its "fun" feeling. But, some people stopped coming to Chat, some of the more fun people. Just a month or so ago I think we did have a record number of people in Chat though, so it seems like people are still wanting connection.
Now, there are fewer people on CGCS overall, or at least it seems that way. We all know where each other stands on things pretty much. We often have the same discussions over and over. Some people here got especially irritating over time. I've gotten more jaded about politics, and I don't have the passion about it that I did. At least I don't right now. I think the movement to make the Democratic Party more progressive is going to take a LONG TIME - maybe a decade - unless something really dramatic happens. I do think the netroots is speeding the process. As for the Republicans, the true citizen politician who is running for president doesn't have a chance against the corporate/media machine. Their Party has pretty much been taken over by monsters.
Anyway, that's a brief summary of where I'm at and how I got to this place. I just got back from yoga, and I am tired. I may feel differently tomorrow. Some discussions are still interesting to me. I have learned a lot from this place - A LOT!
Thank you for listening.

There's a full moon tonight.
