Top-
Do you ever sit down?
Actually the wife thinks I go to bed to early, usually about 2100 unless I want to see something special or the weather on the nightly news.
You'd think she would be used to me waking up at 0415 after 36 years. She actually threaten to tomahawk me if I ever woke her up again at 0415 this morning; she's got the fiercist war face I ever seen on a living human being. I think she's sexy when she really gets pissed off, I guess that's why I always wake her up when I get up. Peg, you're a shrink; what kind of syndrome is that anyways?
Right now it hurts to sit down; causes pressure on the spine. If I sit in one place for too long it's the devil to get up and move again. I figure since it's hurting anyways and there ain't anything that can be done about it just keep on keeping on doing what I do.

Hi! Betty, you could take off your cyber clothes and run naked across the screen and NO ONE would want you to leave. You have an over inflated notion of your bitchiness:)
TOP that is a crazy doctor. Why do they tell us we must stay in pain? Maybe a chiropractor or an accupuctarist would work? I'm tired of being told "get used to it" after the prices they charge!!
Well, I'd be a little leary of an acupuctarist since this is my spine and it's got the main cable controlling my legs running through it. Besides, pain never hurt nobody(just keep telling yourself that).
When I got hurt in 94 the physical therapist said he'd never seen anyone with the tolerance for pain like I had. I told him it was easy to tolerate pain, if it gets so bad you can't stand it just wet your pants then you got something else to worry about. After that he backed off a bit trying to twist my arm back into shape.

That's the only way anyone becomes a Marine....if they didn't feel less pain they wouldn't make it as a Marine.
Hey....do you yawn around your animals? Will you try it and see if they yawn back? It may sound silly, but I have a silly question about 3 times a week or something has gotten me down. When I'm happy....I question and wonder about things. Also, the next time you yawn would you try and notice if any of your animals yawned first? I'm trying to see if animal-human yawning is the same as human to human yawning; i.e. contagious? Let me know, and it's okay if you laugh at me as long as you try it out.

Peg and Heart are invited to the Women's Mud Wrestling contest. I wouldn't want anyone to feel rejection or that they are being ignored. Welcome to the mosh pot as someone once said.
I havn't checked that other thread to see if Sandra and C.O. wanted to participate. Now we'll see who the REAL winners and losers are, meanwhile heart wants to find out if yawning at animals make them yawn back. I tried it just now on Mildred and she walked over and smelled my breath. Ewwwww!
Marine, I think you're a glutton for punishment waking your wife up at 4:30 in the morning. Does she have to go to work that early or are you just trying to be romantic? No wonder your back is out of wack!

FWIW when I injured by back in 1991 I had every traditional treatment, physical therapy, chiropractor, I even saw a neurologist. However, it was not until I went for acupuncture that the pain went away. The second treatment did the trick. I highly recommend it for back pain.

You made a comment here Sunday about having to watch someone you used to respect trigger the wrecking ball. I took that to mean me, and I don’t think I’m wrong about that.
Being the thick-headed fool that I can be at times, I took that to mean only that you were upset because I kept fighting for stricter moderator controls, and didn’t realize you also meant that I was contributing to the disharmony between the Hillary and Obama camps.
You have every right to be mad at me, but please don’t take it out on all of the friends who love you here in RA. What about Doc, Pegatha, Skillet, heart, Marine, KT, bigtom, Smartcor, and Snuffy? (I hope I didn’t leave anyone out!)

Hey !! what's the big idea? Seeing as the boss wouldn't let us out we sent an SOS to the wicked witch of the north and asked her to help us escape.
She decided to brave the wrath of the boss and help us.
She hasn't been boycotting. She has been trying to temper some of the hotheadedness around lately. Not always successfully unfortunately.
Seriously, I haven't been staying away for any reason other than that I got caught up in things elsewhere when I had time to be on line.
Plus I expected I had upset a few and didn't want to ruin their respite here in RA. I care too much for what this place represents and for the people here to ever try to be a jarring presence.
I am sorry I missed a couple of posts yesterday but I simply never saw them until someone called me.
Misunderstandings don't belong here so I didn't even come into RA until after the debate last night and by then I was so tired I decided to wait till today to post as I knew that I had taken care of it elsewhere earlier after the call I received.
I told you a long time ago I would never desert RA. That is not negotiable. Its a firm commitment. As long as RA is here so am I. .. SO THERE !

And if you want to punish me Fly for letting the pups out ...send me wascally wabbit .. I REALLY need another creature to look after these day ! Tuffy is determined to give me ground rules and he is a hard taskmaster in addition to being a little devil. Maybe wascally wabbit could help him make my life more difficult.

Hello! Glad to see everyone here!
Thanks for all the answers to my questions. It made me chuckle to think of KT trying to get Mildred (of all names) to yawn and just getting Mildred to smell her breath. But, did you know that some experiments show that dogs can smell our health and our mood in our breath? Weird huh?
It wouldn't do any good for me to yawn at my parrot Miko because he would eventually yawn back if he thought it would get attention. He's a parrot after all, so he would just mimic me.
Peg: I loved the pug, and I have wanted a pug for years now, but I think it's just empty nest syndrome. My oldest says he is moving out on his 18th birthday which is at the end of April. He still has no job, no car, no license, and no clue! So...this should be interesting to watch. He's is really way to wrapped up. He needs to learn to chill and stop yelling at everyone when some little thing doesn't go his way. I never thought my boy would yell at me, but....I'm tired of the fighting. I love him, but it's time he found out that the really world won't put up with his nonsense either, and it's a lot harder than he thinks it is. I'll try very hard not to gloat
Doc: I'm sorry about the Mrs. Let her rest and get well.
As for the mud wrestle....weeeellll....jello is better....been there, done that and kept the t-shirt

I just wonder how and where they make that much jello? Oh no, not another strange question!
BTW: It's really cold down here in GA, but it's like 60 degrees in the daytime and then 30 at night. That's not normal. Also, I agree with Sandra, I've seen enough snow in my life and it looks pretty, but it's a pain. If I could talk myself into living with snow and cold I would still be in Attleboro or North Pawtucket...I liked it there.

It sure as heck is a COLD one!
Coldest night of the year last night.. and yet they say its only three weeks till the first day of spring..
Its been so cold here lately the snow just keeps accumulating. Seems I was complaining not too long ago that we had no snow and now I can barely see over the snowbanks.
Just goes to show .. be careful what you wish for.
When even Toronto complains the snow clearing is a major problem and days pass without the streets being properly cleared you know its a heck of a lot of snow. That's supposed to be a piece of cake for them. This is, after all, snow country.
Hope you are all finding better weather and warmer days than we are.
I think I'll migrate somewhere where snow is only seen on picture postcards !
Maybe if I start a mantra .. three weeks till spring it will help... oir at least make me feel more cheerful!
In the meantime you all have a great day !

An atheist was walking through the woods.
'What majestic trees'!
'What powerful rivers'!
'What beautiful animals'!
He said to himself.
As he was walking alongside the river, he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him. He turned to look. He saw a 7-foot grizzly bear charge towards him.
He ran as fast as he could up the path. He looked over his shoulder & saw that the bear was closing in on him.
He looked over his shoulder again, & the bear was even closer. He tripped & fell on the ground. He rolled over to pick himself up but saw that the bear was right on top of him, reaching for him with his left paw & raising his right paw to strike him.
At that instant the Atheist cried out, 'Oh my God!'
Time Stopped.
The bear froze.
The forest was silent.
As a bright light shone upon the man, a voice came out of the sky. 'You deny my existence for all these years, teach others I don't exist and even credit creation to cosmic accident.' 'Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament? Am I to count you as a believer'?
The atheist looked directly into the light, 'It would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask you to treat me as a Christian now, but perhaps you could make the BEAR a Christian'?
'Very Well,' said the voice.
The light went out. The sounds of the forest resumed. And the bear dropped his right paw, brought both paws together, bowed his head & spoke:
'Lord bless this food, which I am about to receive from thy bounty through Christ our Lord, Amen.'

Grandma goes to court
Lawyers should never ask a Mississippi grandma a question if they aren't prepared for the answer.
In a trial, a Southern small-town prosecuting attorney called his first witness, a grandmotherly, elderly woman to the stand. He approached her and asked, 'Mrs. Jones, do you know me?' She responded, 'Why, yes, I do know you, Mr. Williams. I've known you since you were a boy, and frankly, you've been a big disappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife, and you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs. You think you're a big shot when you haven't the brains to realize you'll never amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you.'
The lawyer was stunned. Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room and asked, 'Mrs. Jones, do you know the defense attorney?'
She again replied, ' Why yes, I do. I've known Mr. Bradley since he was a youngster, too. He's lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem. He can't build a normal relationship with anyone, and his law practice is one of the worst in the entire state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three different women. One of them was your wife. Yes, I know him.'
The defense attorney nearly died.
The judge asked both counselors to approach the bench and, in a very quiet voice, said,
'If either of you idiots asks her if she knows me, I'll send you both to the electric chair'

Well, we haven't thought up a name for them yet. When their big brother and sister were born last year a name wasn't too hard. It was coming a deluge of a rain storm so my wife named em Moses and Flo.

I went and voted this afternoon, I have never seen lines like there were at early voting. Texans don't usually get this kind of opportunity where their votes mean something in the primaries, we're all excited about it.
Tomorrow I'm putting up a fence around the garden, I don't want a repeat performance of last year were I had to replant 4 times; once from the chickens scratching the seed out of the ground and three times from the rain washing it out.

CALMNESS IN OUR LIVES
I am passing this on to you because it definitely works, and we could all use a little more calmness in our lives.
By following simple advice heard on the Dr. Phil show, you too can find inner peace.
Dr Phil proclaimed, "The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started and have never finished."
So, I looked around my house to see all the things I started and hadn't finished, and before leaving the house this morning, I finished off a bottle of White Zinfandel, a bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream, a package of Oreos, the remainder of my old Prozac prescription, the rest of the cheesecake, some Doritos, and a box of chocolates.
You have no idea how freaking good I feel right now.
Pass this on to those whom you think might be in need of inner peace.

I have been playing politics a bit more than I had been the past year or so
As long as it don't screw up your digestive tract like it does mine sometimes. Methinks I get overly disgusted with much of the tendency to get away from issues and concentrate on character assassination. Not that there ain't some unsavory pols out there that deserve more scrutiny for things they've done and said, but not stickin' to known facts and instead tossin' conjecture and hyperbole out there as the major considerations methinks makes it far too ugly.

Good morning everyone! (or what ever 'tis where ever you is, eh?)

Much as I hate to see it where I gotta follow my own notes, methinks the lack of activity here since yesterday mornin' necessitates it. Such is life I guess.
Tater Tot's stoked! When she saw me gettin' stuff ready for our Girl Scout meetin' in CT this afternoon she drug in one of my sweatshirts with the modified big pouch pocket on the front she rides in and I put it on. Now she knows she's comin' with and's doin' flips all over the place, eh?

Good Morning everyone.
Marine... how is your back ? You sure don't believe in taking it easy or looking after yourself do you . I get tired just reading all that you do . I also extend my sympathies about your loss. Maybe he left you a reminder? Could his butting you recently have contributed to triggering the back problem ?
Fly, you are stuck with me. I renewed my subscription yesterday. Told you, I keep my word.
I've been a bit remiss lately with my posts here but that hasn't been because I was changing my mind. It just meant I have had a lot on my mind, and I have been playing politics a bit more than I had been the past year or so. It does help at times even if it can be upsetting as well. At least its not dwelling on things I can't do a darn thing about in real time.
Still snowing and cold here but at least its March . It has to stop sooner or later! And who knows, all this snow may help the levels in the Great Lakes.
Oops! my little demon has just awakened, he slept in, better go tend to him.
Have a good day everyone !
I thought about that, maybe a delayed injury by being laid out by a ram. Mentioned it to the doctor and got no for a response. He said my spine was just covered with arthritic deformities.
I figure jumping out of an airplane a few dozen times, always being the fellow who had to carry on his back that extra piece of radio equipment no one else had the room for, and drinking a gallon of milk a day for the past fifty years might a done it, eh?
I was up at the feed store last week and the young fellow loading the chicken feed was carrying out two bags at a time. I told him I used to do that kind of stuff too but if he keeps it up he'll be paying the price when he gets to be my age.

I missed it? "A gallon of milk a day" refers to what?
That's a $4 a day habit! Worse than my grapefruit juice habit:)

Hey Doc, Hope all is well in your world. Well, RA seems to alive and kickin' at least.
Rest of the board appears to be tearing themselves to pieces, but..ya want RA to stay here, then
guess it will. Hope everybody has a good night. I'm going to bed after reading all I can take and
then deciding to stay silent regarding my own political opinions. Oh...in case anybody is wonderin'
silent is not dumb. Just choose to express myself in a way to be heard and not pounced on. Other
then this thread, is there one place, one can post on this forum, without that happening?
A very good night to you all.
