Good morning everyone! (or what ever 'tis where ever you is, eh?)

The world is full of surprises, eh? Was expectin' my wifes sister and her family'd be arrivin' tomorrow, so guess who pulled in last night? 'Course I was figurin' on havin' today to finish all the empty bed space ready, but we made do.
Methinks the upside is that the wabbit really likes my sister in law! He's pretty much adopted her and now's her constant companion. Gives me a break.
Now to work on gettin' rid of this cold before we head out to sea on Saturday.
Well, here's hopin' the weather's great where ever y'all are at! Enjoy the day, be safe, stay well and remember to
play nice! Have a nice day!

Good Morning people !
Still have the barking problem today but I am being very mean this morning. I moved Tuff's crate into the laundry room and after he had taken care of his morning duties I put him back in and covered it to calm him down. He doesn't like it, he's mad at me, and thinks I'm a horrible Mommy but at least the growls and occasional bark are subdued and low key.
I'm hoping he gets the message that unnecessary barking means confinement but I feel really mean and am fighting my urge to let him out. I keep telling myself that its for his own good as no one likes a yappy doggy and he has to learn that. He's a strong willed little scamp and a handful as Les is either way too permissive or too harsh with him. No happy medium. Yesterday Tuff's barking embarrassed him as he said the neighbours could all hear him and his performance in trying to get Tuff to stop made me want to cage Les ! And it could have resulted in a biting situation as Les was acting on Tuffy's overexcited level rather than as an adult. He isn't mean with Tuffy. He just behaves about as maturely as Tuffy and it could have disastrous results. Tuffy is a gentle wee soul and I want him staying that way. I freaked because I knew he was inviting a bite and that would not have been Tuffy's fault.
Geez !! I have two kids to train it seems. So I am being the bad guy and I hate this role.
If these guys don't finish that job soon I may go over and BITE them !!! They are turning the damn job into a career ! This is ridiculous .. a week to put on siding on the upper half of a house ? Give me a break !
In the meantime .. from here in the loony bin .. have a really good day everyone !!

Glad to see Beamer!
Tuffy is one crazy baby but they are so worth the trouble...... Ray Ray has started exploring at night. She lies down with me to sleep and in the middle of the night she goes exploring . When shes through with her expeditions she comes back into the bedroom. The problem is that since she cannot jump up into the bed she politely barks until I wake up to put her back in....AAAARGH!
We are planning my sis' memorial and it's coing to be a doozy, she has LOTS of friends. I am feeling a bit better, and am still staying sober...

Good for you Tom ! You have been in my thoughts and my prayers.
The fact so many friends will be there says a great deal about your sister. That's wonderful.
As for RayRay .. she is at least polite about it. And she comes back. Guess she finds you a good sleeping companion. Wonder what is waking her up ? I know I have nights like that where I have to get up and wander a bit and then go back to bed and sleep. Usually its because I am restless and can't seem to settle after waking unless I do.
I know its been a busy and rough time for you but you are missed my Friend.

You say trip ... are you going to be gone long ? Is it more than a one day trip ? If so do you want me tending the pups ? Or will you still be checking in every day ?
Just reread that sentence. So many questions.. concise and to the point. Think I could get a job with a congressional committee on one of these investigations ? Naaah .. I was no where near long winded enough. Forget it.
Just let me know if I am to be on Pup Patrol, OK?
Who is going to look after Wascally Wabbit ?
no more questions. I'm done.

Three men were sitting together bragging about how they had given their new wives duties.
The first man had married a Woman from Iowa. He told her that she was going to do dishes and house cleaning. It took a couple days, but on the third day he came home to a clean house and dishes washed and put away.
The second man had married a Woman from Minnesota. He had given his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes, and the cooking. The first day he didn't see any results, but the next day he saw it was better. By the third day, he saw his house was clean, the dishes were done, and there was a huge dinner on the table.
The third man had married a Woman from California. He told her that her duties were to keep the house cleaned, dishes washed, lawn mowed, laundry washed and hot meals on the table for every meal. The first day he couldn't see anything, and the second day he couldn't see anything. By the third day some of the swelling had gone down and he could see a little out of his left eye, enough to fix himself a bite to eat and load the dishwasher

Okay, the boat's all set and methinks we're ready to set sail at oh dark thirty tomorrow mornin' for our little trip. Methinks we'll go down tonight, sleep aboard and cast off 'bout 0300.
Everything, even my fishin' stuff (enough for everyone) is aboard 'cept for the clothes and personal stuff everyone'll use. A few, especially the wives, wasn't too happy 'bout each person bein' limited to one bag each.
I can sure use a bit of relaxin' helm time and look forward to seein' if my navigation skills're still as good as they use to be. If we end up in Greenland methinks it might indicate they ain't.
Kids'll probably be upset 'bout no TV (though I stuck quite a few DVDs aboard for them) and no internet.

Who knows.. there are enemies everywhere. But we can sleep well at night .. the US is looking after us poor misbegotten fools up here north of the border.
Wonder if retardation is contagious ? The US might want to think twice about absorbing such a hopeless bunch of losers. You know, the ones with the water, oil, and other rich natural resources. Not to mention all the unsettled land. And all these wondrous things we don't realize we possess.
What amazes me is the fact they would think for a second we want to share their troubled state in exchange for all those natural resources. Guess you have to be Canadian and not too bright to really appreciate how incongruous that is.

Its also a lovely day here , no humidity, normal temperatures and clear skies and sun. Its a good day.
Hope everyone else is as lucky.

Concerned that he may elevate his vitals from worry about his

Betty, I'm glad Tuffy is better. I'm thrilled that he returned the ball. I think he'll be okay since he got it out of his system, otherwise it definitely could have been a problem, an obstruction of some sort. If he eats as usual now I would not worry, if he is still not eating and his disposition is low then you may want to have an ultrasound or an X-ray to make sure there is nothing there blocking him.

Thanks SC.. he seems fine now. It was a soft ball , material, not wood or anything like that. It came back intact no pieces missing. Still a round ball. He's lively and alert and ate a really good meal at dinner time.
I was just concerned that he returned it the way he did. I expected it would take a different route. I was a bit worried that he might have damaged something internally with that being there for days and then returning the way it entered.
But he is eating and playing and seems normal.

And in other news.....
I have to get a copy of my birth certificate and renew my drivers licence. It's been five years on the bus while I build a '71 Dart.
I am getting close to having my old car!
AND once I get my licence I intend to join The Texas State Guard.
I have been gradually getting Laura used to the idea and she finally relented.
I have thought long and hard about this and I really need to do it.
I feel the need to serve again and I've felt it for a long time.
I will not be jumping from planes but I can still drive a bus...
Good man, Tom!

Good for you Tom. This is a real kick for me too feeling useful again. Being from Houston you'd be going to the 8th Regiment, Terry's Texas Rangers. I'm in the 19th Regiment, Parson's Brigade.
Since I'm back in uniform I volunteered for another organization called "Bugles Across America". I was a trumpet player before I joined the Marines and I can play taps still. WW2 vets are passing away at alarming numbers and it just isn't right that those old gentlemen don't get a real bugler to play taps for their funerals.

Betty, I don't think that is so unusual. I've seen Spirit do that in the past. I think some things don't make it into the intestine and just hang out in the stomach so it may be easier to eject them via the esophagus. He sounds pretty healthy.
Best of luck to you, BT, on the Dart and the Texas Guard.
Hope Doc has a great rip on that boat, which to me sounds like a ship ! Wowser.

I have always dreamed of going to Prince Edward Island... hope to make it some day.
Poor Tuffy.... sounds like he was not feeling so tough for a bit. Glad he is feeling better.
I see I beat to doggies this morning ! Guess they will be running loose soon.

Hi Everybody ...
Looks like a great day today so far. Sure do hope the Boss is getting the same kind of weather wherever he is today.
We miss him .. he usually lets us out a lot earlier than this lady who is doing it while he's away but she's ok.. at least she does let us out before we are ready to start climbing walls. Maybe because she has a pup herself she understands that we can only wait so long in the morning before it becomes a serious problem for us to have to wait any longer.
That pup of hers is no where near as well behaved as we are that's for sure. And he is a funny looking hairy little mutt. She says he's a shih tzu. What the heck kind of name is that for a self respecting dog ?? He is friendly though and kinda cute so we decided not to scare him or chase him away. But between you and us .. we think our coats are ever so much shinier and sleek. She seems quite taken with him though but she sure did give him a dumb name. Tuffy . Heck he's so small and has such big soft eyes he wouldn't scare a bug let alone a chipmunk or squirrel.
But he sure does like to play ! Maybe we'll give the little runt a break and go play with him for a while. We could use the exercise.
See ya all later.
Have a really great day !
And remember .. PLAY NICE !

A male patient is lying in bed in the hospital, wearing an
oxygen mask over his mouth and nose, still heavily
sedated from a difficult, four hour, surgical procedure. A
young, student nurse appears to give him a partial
sponge bath.
"Nurse", he mumbles, from behind the mask. "Are my testicles
black?"
Embarrassed, the young nurse replies, "I don't know, Sir. I'm
only here to wash your upper body
and feet."
He struggles to ask again, "Nurse, are my testicles black?"
Concerned that he may elevate his vitals from worry about his
testicles, she overcomes her
embarrassment and sheepishly pulls back the covers. She raises
his gown, holds his penis in one hand
and his testicles in the other. Then, she takes a close look
and says, "There's nothing wrong with
them, Sir!"
The man pulls off his oxygen mask, smiles at her and says very
slowly, "Thank you very much. That
was wonderful, but, listen very, very closely...... A r e - m y

That's worth a good chuckle.

The Sensitive Man
A woman meets a man in a bar. They talk; they connect; they end up leaving
together.
They get back to his place, and as he shows her around his
apartment, she notices that one wall of his bedroom is completely
filled with soft, sweet, cuddly teddy bears.
There are three shelves in the bedroom with hundreds and hundreds of
cute, cuddly teddy bears, carefully placed in rows covering the entire wall!
It was obvious that he had taken quite some time to lovingly arrange them
and she was immediately touched by the amount of thought he had put into
organizing the display. There were small bears all along the bottom shelf,
medium-sized bears covering the length of the middle shelf, and huge,
enormous bears running all the way along the top shelf.
She found it strange for an obviously masculine guy to have such a large a collection of
Teddy Bears, but doesn't mention this to him, and actually is quite
impressed by his sensitive side.
They share a bottle of wine and continue talking and, after a while, she
finds herself thinking, 'Oh my God! Maybe, this guy could be the one!
Maybe he could be the future father my children?'
She turns to him and kisses him lightly on the lips.
He responds warmly.
They continue to kiss, the passion builds, and he romantically lifts
her in his arms and carries her into his bedroom where they rip off each
other's clothes and make hot, steamy love.
She is so overwhelmed that she responds with more passion, more creativity,
more heat than she has ever known, and even did a few things she had never
done with any other man.
After an intense, explosive night of raw passion with this sensitive guy, they are lying there together in the afterglow.
The woman rolls over, gently strokes his chest and asks coyly, 'Well, how was it?'
The guy gently smiles at her, strokes her cheek, looks deeply into her eyes,
and says......................
'Help yourself to any prize from the middle shelf.'
