If you are leery of buying toys containing lead etc., why not make a donation to a worthy cause and write a note to your grandniece, or nephew or grandson/daughter and explain that you have done this in their name.......maybe someone even has enough income to just add this cause to your gifting list.

Thanks for the bump cutecat, the organization has an interesting approach called RIPS, Rapid Information Pilot Studies that it developed - those afflicted have few choices for this class of illnesses. There are testimonial videos from patients and physicians at:

There were only enough contributions last year to fund three studies.....I am not eligible for lung surgery because my lungs are too riddled with the "bugs" damages - This only increases the need for other options to be developed....for those in the same boat with me.
