Verizon Hears Us

December 2, 2004

Verizon has informed His Side listeners and supporters that the "Homework" ad which was the subject of our protest will no longer be aired. We commend Verizon for understanding our concerns. It is our hope that, given the extensive publicity and support our campaign has received, Verizon and other companies will keep these concerns in mind when planning future advertising campaigns. Thanks to the thousands of you who called and wrote Verizon.

Best Wishes,
Glenn Sacks

I hate to be picky, but Glenn's message doesn't say that Verizon gave in to any pressure, only that Verizon had announced the ad would be no longer aired. I checked their website and they don't even speak of it.

I'm not going to be picky either. They contacted Glenn Sacks. They didn't have to do that. I'm sure they would like to close the door on the issue as quickly as possible and go about their business. It is less likely that they choose as offensive of a commerical next time.

Mission Accomplished!

(please don't make me put on some ugly jump suit for saying that)
