This brightened my day immeasurably that another diocese has to fork over a huge settlement. Maybe his holiness will have to hock a ring and a tiarra this time.
U.S. has damn few men going into the priesthood, they may be outsourcing those jobs to third world priests. After all the cr*p the Catholic church has dumped on women,jews,gays/lesbians, and people with AIDS.

IT'S PAYBACK TIME! wink.gif

For every event that occurs, there will follow another event whose existence was caused by the first, and this second event will be pleasant or unpleasant according as its cause.

I disagree with this one-sided broadside against the Catholic Church. I'm not a Catholic although my wife is. There is a lot of good that has been done by people in the Church, priests and devout laypeople. There is certainly a lot that the Church has to answer for. As far as the settlement goes my feelings are a bit mixed, it is a shame that this money isn't going to help the needy people it might have but the victims cannot be denied justice. The real villains are the bishops who irresponsibly let this stuff happen, too bad there isn't enough money in their hides to extract.

I'm an equal oppurtunity kind of guy, I don't like Orthodox Jews, Southern Baptists, most Mormons(I was raised half Mormon, but they were not very strict followers after my great grandparents.) As a gay man these folks hate my guts, with equal passion, that I have for them.
