Major Speech Wednesday
Democracy for America Executive Director, Tom McMahon, sent this email to DFA supporters this morning.

Governor Dean will lay out a vision for the future of the Democratic Party this Wednesday at 12 p.m. Eastern in Washington, D.C.

He will outline not just a direction for our party, but a concrete destination: a party built from the ground up.

That means a party powered by millions of small donors, not millionaires. It means a party that speaks plainly and commits to concrete outcomes that affect real people. And it means a party that competes in every single race, for every single vote, in all fifty states.

You can watch live video of the speech on Wednesday morning at the Democracy for America web site:

www.democracyforamerica.com

Be sure to join us for the live webcast on Wednesday at 12 p.m. Eastern. Thank you.

Please check there before adding a new thread, one may already exist.

The committee announced they are GOING TO OHIO!!!

Jesse Jackson's comments were good, I particularly liked:

This election is not over.
34 days. Why did it take 34 days to certify?
Emergency attention is needed in Ohio, NOW.

Did anyone catch that odd discrepancy that he noted where in one county votes went overwhelming for a local Dem and not for Kerry, yet the opposite occured in a neighborhing county? The VOTING MACHINES were rigged!

THAT'S RIGHT!

25,000 volunteers were on the ground helping with this.

Why is the Green party guy promoting his party so much? He should stay focused on the issue at hand: VOTER IRREGS

He is validating the Green's position. If it had not been for the Green / Libertarian lawsuit, there would be no recount. They are part of the solution, not a part of the problem. Accept the efforts of the Greens, they are an honorable group.

I applaud their efforts, but is this the appropriate forum to talk about their history and promote their party or should it be focused on voter fraud issues? I think it sounded a little off message for him to highlight his party over voter fraud.

Arnebeck said, we cannot accept a fraudulent election for the Pres of the United States! This needs to be corrected before it's finalized.

Jon Greenbaum with the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights, stated that three main problems exist:

>Election admin is terribly under resourced
>They system is far too decentralized
>It's disgraceful that we allow partisan officials oversee processes

The third one is a biggie. Kathryn Harris and Blackwell should be the LAST partisans that oversee election processes

I hope Kerry is watching. Maybe he'll decide to unconcede.

Newsworthy:

Conyers will be taking the forum to Ohio for hearings.
Rep. Jesse Jackson will be introducing a bill for a Constitutional amendment to require unified voting methods nationwide, as well as a paper trail.
Arnebeck spoke strongest. “The Fraud in this election must be fixed before this election is finalized. We cannot accept a fraudulent election for the Pres of the United States! This needs to be corrected before it's finalized.. Compares Ohio to Ukraine. We will not tolerate fradulent results of our elections, and we will not move on….Statistical evidence of computer manipulation.
Robert Fitrakis called Blackwell’s statement the Ohio election was a “success” “he we talking about his roll as chair of the Bush/Cheney Committee”. Very strong statements about Diebolt and connection to Bush. Statistical pattern of not having enough machines. Transparency of software (not private, propriatary).
William Moss. “We have just passed December 7, an day that shall live in infamy. Due to the nefarious activities on November 2 by officials in Ohio, that date, too, will live in infamy.” With his wife, will be lead plaintiffs seeking simple justice for the nation, Blackwell’s conflict of interest, voter intimidation
Smeal: Data comparing voter registration 2000/2004. Purging of voting registration records should be analyzed (records purged in Dem areas, but not Rep areas).
