Don't Certify the Votes: Go on record with your Senator
This list of 10 Senators are those which I hope to focus lobbying efforts to try and find at least one to protest the certification of the final vote tally in congress.

I've set-up the thread with a topic for each Senator,  so we can keep track of any feedback from the Senators.

I've started a Thread at the forum on DU Here:

Diaries :: ethre's diary ::

The main talking points are to:

Urge your Senator to not certify the official vote tally in Congress.

There needs to be more time allowed until all recounts are finished and fraud investigations are completed.

There is enough evidence to greatly suggest large scale voter fraud and voter disenfranchisement.

Add more talking points to this topic if you like and any thoughts on strategy.
I'd like to ask for volunteers to coordinate phone calls, faxes, emails, paper letters and any "in person" meetings you're willing to arrange.

It's vital that those and your own Senators get as many calls as possible so send this to all you know in each Senators' States. Post it at local Indymedias and any other state local net forums or lists.

Dear Senator,
I am writing you now,  so that I may give you my statement regarding what I believe was NOT a legitimate Presidential Election.  As your constituent and you being my Representative in the Senate, I tell you now what my views are, which you should represent for me,  on the US Senate Floor.

After the November 2nd General Election, reports of voter disenfranchisement and election fraud have been surfacing so much, that feel the results of the election should NOT be certified in Congress as accurate or legitimate.

You may have heard some reports as well, for instance the General Accounting Office has already begun an investigation into election irregularities and a recount will take place in Ohio and New Hampshire for sure and  possibly states like New Mexico and Florida.  There have been many news reports of voting machines switching to George Bush after John Kerry was actually chosen. Voting machine breakdowns and 5-10 hour lines in mostly Democratic ethnic minority areas.  Stories of electronic voting machine technicians,  posing as the FBI and locking down county vote tally areas and others suggesting wide scale fraud and illegal activity are surfacing from all over America more every day.

Up to now, the election irregularities have been scattered all across the country, with no one piece of evidence to CONVICT a particular group or political party of a full scale nationwide conspiracy, but there IS enough evidence to greatly SUSPECT just that.

If a hypodermic needle was found in the locker of a winner of an Olympic race, would you want to investigate for illegal drug use before or after giving him an Olympic Medal?

While the GAO investigation is being conducted and recounts in several states happening, I do not see the wisdom or rationale in certifying the official election results BEFORE both have been completed in full. The only way to add legitimacy to the 2004 election is to either corroborate the allegations of wide scale voter fraud and disenfranchisement or them prove false. Without this done, more and more people will lose confidence in the election process and may not even bother to vote next time.

Please make the right choice and DO NOT certify the votes until more time is allowed for all the recounts and investigations to be completed.

QUOTE
Dear Senator,

As your constituent, I am asking you to represent the facts below on the US Senate Floor, specific to the 2004 General Election.

Confirmed reports of voter disenfranchisement surfaced resulting in charges filed against election officials and related investigations.  Please inform your peers that the results of the General Election should NOT be certified.

Prior to award, if a hypodermic needle was found in the locker of a winner of an Olympic race, would illegal drug use be investigated before or after giving an athlete an Olympic Medal?

http://www.house.gov/judiciary_democrats/c...ce/letters.html
http://fairnessbybeckerman.blogspot.com

- GAO is investigating voting irregularities
- criminal charges have been filed against election officials
- voting machine companies are under investigation
- recounts are being done in multiple states
- FOIA requests remain unfulfilled for auditing of voting machine data

There is no rationale for certifying election results BEFORE these outcomes have been determined. The only acceptable option is to corroborate or prove false, the allegations of wide spread voter fraud and disenfranchisement.  We are doing our job, please persuade your peers to do theirs and support you in standing against further disenfranchisement and demise of our republic.

We need to be able to revote, but that is unlikely.  So, please make the choice that allows our Republic to stand, for it cannot without legitimate voting.  As your constituent I am asking you to uphold our Constitution for The People, by not certifying votes until sufficient time is allowed for all recounts, criminal charges and investigations to be completed.

Respectfully,

(end of sample letter)

what happens if the senate does not certify the electoral vote?

Also, http://www.congress.org/congressorg/dbq/officials/?lvl=L is a good place to email or contact representatives and media (see left navigation column). Explore the main page at www.congress.org for features that may be useful in your endeavors.

One more thing. If none of the 10 Senators named in the initial post are from your state, please pass these sample letters, links and contacts to someone you know who is from those Senators' states. Representatives pay more attention to their own constituents.

All representatives are sworn to uphold our Constitution. All Senators should be contacted and their feet held to the fire. However the 10 named in the initial post have been identified as taking action in some way.

If you know or cross paths with anyone from their states, it would be very helpful to pass the contact info and sample letters to them. Senators need to be armed with communications from constituents when and if they reach the Senate floor.

I am looking for a place online that will post letters from Representatives in response to election issues. If I find one, I'll post it here. That way, letters to all Senators might make a difference if they knew their responses are being publicized. Perhaps Common Cause has a place for that already, and I am unaware of it.

I did it! I sent it to McCain...started thinking he probably would love bsh out of the white house - he was screaming about the pork in the omnibus bill, and he's always telling what he would do different in Iraq.

It would be great if everyone did this - the senate is back in dc this week.. who knows they could be talking about all this email they've been getting!

From my experience,no. On the other hand if the choice is between him and Kyle would you want to risk a letter from Kyle entering your house and possibly coming in direct contact with it?

YES!!!

Free Press will publish responses from representatives regarding the 2004 General Election and voting irregularities.

Email responses verbatim to: truth@freepress.org Hard copies can be faxed to 614 253 2571.
