Will a party change in the Presidency result in his being reassigned again? What happens when he is again to report on the surge again in reference to withdrawal of troops as scheduled to Congress? That appears to be sucked down the drain.

Normally the position is for three years so is this just a Bush maneuver to try to impose his imperialism on the next administration?
