Justices Cut Damages Award in Exxon Valdez Spill
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS 11:40 AM ET The Supreme Court cut the $2.5 billion punitive damages award in the 1989 oil spill to $500 million.

Well, let's see. Next time the offending parties will pay cleanup costs for whatever amount they wish, block any other payment for about 20 years and then they get away with paying the same amount over again. Wonder if the Bushies would settle for this if there were a spill on their itsy bitsy coastline up in New England?

There are still animals dying on the coast of Alaska. There are whole communities destroyed. There are many people uprooted and relocated.

Anyone with a conscience should never buy Exxon products ever again.

I hope Exxon goes broke.
