Jefferson City First Ward City Councilman Mike Harvey has announced he is running for Cole County treasurer.
Harvey has served two terms on the council working on various council committees, including the finance, public works and public safety committees.
Harvey stated that his goal if elected treasurer would be "to assure citizens that the county treasury is secure and its investments are properly monitored to realize the best return possible."
Harvey attended Florissant Valley Community College, Meramec Community College and Central Missouri State University. He has been in the automobile industry for the last 32 years, specializing in finance for the last 23 years.
