U.S.: A Call for a New Election, by Ken Reiner

2004-12-06 | The time has come for a real election. The one we had was a fraud!

Currently, there is a big hue and cry on the part of the Green and Libertarian Parties, and Nader to count all the votes. I am in favor of this, as it will undoubtedly disclose major differences between false vote counts reported in the media - like 3.5 million more votes nationally for Bush than Kerry; 136,000 more for Bush than Kerry in Ohio, and other such inaccurate data. Counting every vote, just in the state of Ohio, will reveal one more lie the Bush government and a pliant press has spread. Someone should write a poem about these lies starting with "Let me count the ways".

Details of the progress of the election errors, anomalies and vote suppression investigations already occuring in certain districts of New Hampshire and scheduled to take place throughout Ohio and possibly in New Mexico, Florida, Nevada and other states yet to be considered, can be easily found on the internet or in foreign newspapers and their TV broadcasts. Revealingly, they cannot be found anywhere within the United States on any mainstream, corporate owned newspaper, magazine or TV station!

The internet, Pacifica radio and a small number of independent stations are the only ones with news of what the entire world recognizes as the most fraudulent election in the history of great nations, excluding those of course by Joseph Stalin and Adolph Hitler!

Take stock of this fact! It is now going on five weeks after what I think we should call "Black Wednesday", the day Kerry conceded the election to Bush, after knowing full well the problems hundreds of thousands of African Americans who tried to support his election had in casting their votes, just as they tried to do in 2000 for Gore, who also wouldn't give them the time of day! And despite the testimony of many thousands of voters denied their voting rights, or made to wait excessive times in line to vote, or after being given faulty information as to the location of their voting district booths, they were denied the vote when they showed up at those wrong locations, nothing about any of this appears in the U.S. local or national media!

Just in the key state of Ohio alone, which was the state that allegedly gave the presidency to Bush, not a single word disclosing that there are serious investigations of electoral fraud being undertaken against American citizens attempting to exercise their right to vote and to have their votes counted, in Ohio's corporate newspapers or TV stations, or any mass media nationally,

All this against a bizarre background of our government demanding that the election in the Ukraine, halfway across the world, be declared fraudulent and void and calling for an immediate new election! Our 2004 election was even more fraudulent and also needs to be immediately repeated, with paper ballots this time. Yet our newspapers and TV are full of commentaries on the Ukraine election fraud only. Amazingly, nothing about our voting system failure for a third time in a row; in 2000, 2002 and now in 2004. If this isn't front page news I can't imagine anything that is! Has Joseph Goebbels been reincarnated and put in charge of the American press?

There is one dominant reason, in my opinion, for this non-reportage. The elite, who control our corporate society and run this country through their banks, Federal Reserve system and the bought and paid-for Congress, and who also own every major media outlet, know that Joseph Stalin once declared: "It is enough that the people know there was an election. The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything".

Were Americans to ever learn how corrupt their elections are, and how few choices they are given, they might rise up and change the entire system by which corporations run the country. The elite will do everything in their power to keep the people from learning just how crooked the system is. With the power of the press and TV under their total command, which we now clearly see, they likely will try every way they can to keep this fraudulent election, as they did with the prior two elections, out of the gaze of "we the people". After all, by reason of false media control, the majority of Americans, even today, are still convinced Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, despite Bush (and everyone but Cheney) admitting "evidently they didn't".

What can you and I in America do about this?

The internet, along with word of mouth, is the primary avenue of communication "we the people" have left - now that our airwaves have been removed from our control by "our" representatives in Congress who turned them over to corporations for free. And it is an extremely powerful communication tool, in many ways potentially more powerful than the "mass media" which enters our homes daily and attempts to confuse and misinform us as to the happenings in our communities, the nation and the world. For accurate news we must henceforth rely primarily on the internet, on free and illuminating news resources, like "Common Dreams", "Information Clearing House", "Truthout" and other such informative websites which bring news from all around the country and the world to us instantly and capably, and without interpretation. And it is on the internet that we can band together in instant communication, a virtual national and even international community of "we the people" that can speak, and make demands of each other and from our government representatives, from the authority of great numbers, such as has been done by "Moveon.org", as only one of many examples.

Right now, today, we must make our demands known that we will not accept another four years of Bush, or a continuation of the savage war against the Iraq people which he continues conducting to gain control of Iraq's oil fields and refineries. You and I are also still free to pass news of fraud, conspiracy or discrimination and form powerful associations to bust open the veil of silence of the corporate media. We must all communicate with them and tell them we will stop buying their papers and watching their shows if they don't immediately, prominently disclose the investigations of election fraud that are going forth by numerous non-corporate organizations, groups and parties.

Never before in the history of America have there been as many claims of computer errors and abuse of voter rights as has happened this year. To hear nothing about it in the press and on TV is the ultimate in cover-ups. Tell them we will not tolerate that. Point out that the only radio shows that are reporting what is really happening are those that are non-profit, publicly backed, such as Pacifica. Ask them why, with such limited budgets do they have more complete and accurate news than the multimillion dollar networks which have big bucks but are so silent?

We must tell the media that the question of whether or not we just had a fair election is the most important one of the year. Every citizen who wanted to vote, and registered in time, should have been allowed to vote, regardless of race or place of residence, and in a manner that was accurately recountable in event of a contested count or error. That did not happen in tens, possibly hundreds of thousands of instances.

Tell the media that Americans look for and demand daily news of electoral fraud and of vote suppression as well.. Point out that it is reported reliably that in some of the 15 Florida counties that used touch-screen computers, some voters said they pushed the button for Kerry but saw the screen mark the ballot for Bush.

Why aren't those things being reported? Why is the media silent?

Because there was no paper backup for those machines in those counties it is impossible to determine whether those votes were properly counted. Evidently such votes are not recountable, yet over 30 million such votes nationally were allowed to be made on such machines that cannot be verified, or even known whether they were counted and summarized properly. How can an election be valid where every vote is not verifiable? And doesn't that mean that in every state using such unverifiable voting, the voting results not being recountable are suspect of manipulation and basically impossible of fairly determining winners or losers?

Tell the media we refuse to have the Supreme Court choose our president, or the House of Representatives either. That is our right and we are not giving that right up. And if we are to pay taxes to the government, it must not ignore that right. Our forefathers made that clear with their Boston Tea Party and founded a government where taxation without representation was ended. We won't let that happen to us again, and we want honest, verifiable elections. And every representative we have elected will be replaced, if from this date on they allow this or any fraudulent election to stand! (For more on the matter of election fraud go to the following links).

Above all, we must immediately schedule a new election, using paper ballots, wherein a recount of all votes is possible in the event of errors in totalling or recording. The new election should cover only the three classes of candidates running for national offices: President/Vice President, Senator (if one is up for reelection in 2004) and Congressperson of each district of the nation. That is three lines on a voting card. How simple it is, and how long would such a rerun take to run and count? (In Canada they do the count in 4 hours. Five weeks after our election we still don't have a real count - and never can). The candidates would be the ones who ran on November 2nd and the electoral college voting for each state on the Presidency would be as before. The difference: this would be a real election where everyone would know who we did elect the next day or two!

That result can never be achieved on the basis of the November election which used flawed voting methods mandated by the Republican Congress. For the past two years, with 100% control of Congress, they prevented the safeguards for electronic voting by opposing proposed amendments in the House and Senate calling for voting integrity.

That outrageous allowance of unverifiable voting was never revealed to the public through its media. Why?

Immediately below is a printout of House bill HR2239 by Rush Holt. That bill and its similar companion Senate bill clearly would have prevented the outrageous methods used in this election to falsify the election in essentially denying voters of their rights. Read it carefully to understand why the Republican Congress rejected it. It is truly the smoking gun of the farcical, fraudulent November election. Blocking those bills gave the Republican Party the ability to overide any number of votes any opponent could come up with by electronic means of control, wholly within their hands, which it is now clear they did.

Accurate exit polls, which are used in all democratic elections throughout the world and have a margin of error of less than one percent showed, at the end of election day, Kerry had more votes than Bush in Florida and Ohio, and thus, the majority of electoral votes nationally. With the vote counting solidly in the hands of Republican owned private firms (the owner of one had promised Bush a victory in Ohio, a year earlier) and without the protection of the Holt amendment, it became a simple matter to alter the votes of any of the undetectable paperless voting machines and create a Bush victory, and that of key Senators and Congressmen, at will.

Such nonverifiable totals cannot be permitted to elect a President or any Congressional representatives and thus the entire national election must be thrown out and a rerun made before any falsely elected persons take office in 2005.

The sooner we can schedule such a new election of national candidates, the sooner the rift will begin to heal between citizens who will increasinly learn the November 2nd election was a fraud and those who want a Bush victory claimed by a corporate press.

Were Voters Intimidated in Ohio?

According to Hannity, Jesse Jackson has created an agenda to divide America along racial lines. Every vote has been counted and there's no chance that John Kerry can win.Tonight Ken Hamblin appeared to support Hannity's viewpoint and as Hillary Shelton and Colmes came up with some hard evidence of voter intimidation, Hannity and Hamblin had real difficulty making their case.12/9/04 9PM

Alan Colmes reported that flyers were sent out in Ohio urging Democrats to vote on November 4th . Other flyers told voters to bring cancelled checks to prove that they had paid child support and warned them that if any family members were incarcerated, they could not vote.Hillary Shelton claimed to have copies of these flyers as evidence,

Ken Hamblin's response did not address the allegation at all.He argued that "black people aren't getting a proper education." He wondered if they got a "flyer claiming there was a herd of flying pigs." would they believe that. "Get over it. I'm not a white liberal from Conneticut."

Colmes then brought up the lack of voting machines in democratic districts forcing people to wait for hours discouraging voters.
Hamblin's response once agin avoided the issue totally.
" Liberal talk radio said that people didn't know how to use the punch card ballot. Stop it..Stop it."

Hannity added that this was the work of John Kerry surrogates trying to cast doubt about Bush's victory. Hamblin added that Jesse Jackson called for disbanding the Electoral College acting as if that certainly puts his credibility in doubt.

Obviously, Hannity and Hamblin could not deny the allegations about intimidation of voters in Ohio. All they can do, at this point, is try to create a smokescreen by focusing on Jesse Jackson and making false accusations about Kerry. As all the evidence mounts, it's going to be harder to keep up the media lock down. This is not an issue that will go away as easily as some would like.
