(Omaha, NE) -- In addition to athletes breaking nine world records, attendance records were also broken during the Olympic Swimming Time Trials at the Qwest Center last week. USA Swimming Executive Director Chuck Wielgus said yesterday that during one night of the competition, 13-thousand-717 people were in attendance, the highest number to ever watch a swim meet in the United States. The total attendance for all eight days was over 150-thousand, compared to 106-thousand for the time trials of 2004. Wielgus says he hopes to begin talks within the next month or two to bring the trials back to Omaha again in 2012.
