Every time I hear someone say Obama is a Muslim I am sssssooooo totally embarrassed to be an American in this day and age.

Where is the outrage here? We have over 2% of the country worshiping as Muslims. How would you feel if you substituted your religious denomination for "Muslim" every time someone "accuses" Obama of being a Muslim. It's offensive and I'm not the most inclined to defend that faith in the first place, but I WOULD NEVER condemn someone just because they believed in Allah. Only if their actions, or the way they practice it denigrates my sense of human rights.

Can you imagine someone saying to Obama "People say you are a Jew, is that true" and Obama says "I am not a Jew, I have never been a Jew" and he HAD to keep saying that? Doesn't that say, essentially, Muslims are NOT welcome in the US? And certainly NOT in government?

How bigoted can this get? It's horrible.

As a Christian I would have absolutely no problem voting for a Muslim, as long as that Muslim's views were sufficiently compatible with mine, a condition I would impose no less on a Christian or person of any other belief. (Including belief that there is no God.)

I don't know that I remember Hillary and her people, her top people anyway, pushing this line of crap though. (And yes, I remember that picture that was being circulated.) But the Right wing has been full of this kind of un-American, unpatriotic garbage.

I heard a conservative talk show host say even he was embarrassed by it the other day. It's idiotic.

Too often people get their advice from talking heads on TV. After all if its said on TV it must be correct. Its like when people on TV tell you who won a debate. Their opinion is like ass.oles. Everyone has one and is no different from anyone else. Thats why I agree that TV watching is bad for you. Watch on CSPAN and form your own opinion.

I dont even watch TV anymore. The media is in bed with the powers that be that own all the media outlets. Everything is biased or watered down. They keep you distracted with BS and the latest news on Lindsay Lohan. You have to go underground for real news.

I find that to be true. Rarely will the truth be told on the news. You get government hand outs read on TV. Sometimes the news people know what is true and will not tell the truth. Sometimes they tell BOTH SIDES of an issue even if the other side is a lie and they know it. They know things and do not disclose to the general public. This is true of the Washington press corp. So it is hard to watch NEWS and feel that you really know what is going on.

I think the TV media can be usefull, if watched critically. This is extremely hard for huminoids to do
because of the nature of the medium which puts consumers in a passive mode. I agree that it is often used by the powers that be to mold public opinion and stimulate unneeded consumption. I am usually watching for discrepancies between perception, conception, feeling, intention and action. The
Integration score serves as a truth index.

It goes like this.."Is Obama a Muslim?" or "Is Obama really a Christian"? Plant the seeds of doubt for those who would have a problem with a non Christian as POTUS. Sneaky stuff...

I guess I give even the least informed more credit than they deserve. I have a friend that I explain some things to once in a while. When she brought this up a couple of weeks ago with just a statement out of the blue, "Did you hear that 'that guy' is really a Muslim?" (Can't even bring herself to say Sen. Obama's name; she thinks Bush is soooooo cute [she's 68] and the best pres. since Reagan)

I told her this, giving her more credit, obviously, than was due: Do you really think that anyone of an altrnate religion in this country, be it Islam, Buddism, Hinduism, or whatever, would really have enough nerve to try to run for President while lying about their religion? That's so dumb on the face of it, I can't believe anyone would fall for it.

She just hhumphed and changed the subject. (One of those that helps keep the average IQ at about 100.)
