You could not be more wrong Graham. The individual in question was making a joke. He admitted it went too far and he regretted it. No way was he attempting to harm in any way those who chose to see it otherwise. He was making a point with humour. Albeit a poor decision given that humour is in short supply around here.

Even Mag realized after the fact that the crime hadn't been as he suspected and stated so here on this board.

You didn't like the fact that more often than not that individual was dead right in debates with you and you seem to be unable to let it go but he meant no harm to anyone.

He was, and is, a class act.

Here, here!

Now maybe we can actually debate points, as opposed to resorting to personal attacks and dredging up old fights.

no he was NOT making a joke

he only said that to get out of major legal trouble with Dr. Griffin when he meekly gave in

Dr. Griffin is a class act. Who was smeared big time.

mag did not know all the board doings, and mag did not say offender was making a joke, mag was talking about a technical deletion of a post NOT obsolving (and you can go back and read it)
blame on the offender who lied.

QUOTE(Magmak1 @ May 1 2008, 02:38 PM) *
In a final attempt to be fully explanatory and clear, my apology here doesn't mean I don't continue to stand behind the content that was posted and then deleted in my blog (I do stand behind it, then and now).

It doesn't mean that I have acquiesced to anyone in terms of my views about 9/11.

Furthermore, my apology was to the community, not to the person who wrote the 'satire' and then, after admitting it was a satire, continued to insist that it was serious and could be backed up, even after it was shown that he got his ideas from other postings at other sites.

My apology to the community was because I had suggested that someone else had deleted my blog. Now that I have made an error that demonstrated to me that I could have done it myself, I feel honor-bound to state that.

Nor is the apology an effort to make nice so I'll be welcomed back again and can post here again. Michael simply 'enabled' my membership so I could make the statements myself.

As for the possibility that there can be one big happy family, my intent and commitment is to be activist, to actually do something rather than just talk about it endlessly back and forth.

There has been and continues to be treachery, treason, destruction, theft, and corruption afoot in high places in this nation, and I will continue to raise my small little voice in opposition. But, as Arlo taught us, if you want to end war and stuff, you gotta sing loud, so we have started a small choir. [We are currently talking about how we can buy a microphone and an amplifier.]

may as well get the exact quote magmak used
NOTE- it was NOT an apology to the offender or to what sham was pulled, it was for the deletion of a post.

Yes, using a screen name that not everyone may have understood is a sign of perfidy!

John Kerry and Al Gore won.
Nothing more was needed in either year

Obama won already.

I think Bush is in the WH...so technically speaking, neither Gore or Kerry won. It remains to be seen with Obama. I'm sure hoping he wins.

Amy- the point being, if they will steal it, nothing one does or doesn't say today even matters.
obama can win by 2 million, yet if they set the machines back 3 milion, McCain will be called the new president

either it will be honest and obama will win, or dishonest and McCain will be seated. Either way, Obama will win like Gore and Kerry did.

Obama has a really good chance of winning if all those newly registered voters actually vote and if their votes are honestly counted.

I wouldn't forget what Carville said about what you call the candidate who relies upon first time voters? "You call him loser".

Couldn't care less what Carville has to say about anything.

Well, I suppose they also do the thinking for those lazy and under informed minds out there....I do my own analyzing based on reading and listening to a variety of experts in any given field....
Arneoker
But Carville did make that cute ad with former Senator First for Coca Cola!

Seriously, I am sure that he earned his keep working for Clinton and he writes good promos for the DSCC (or is it the DCCC?). But all those talking heads don't really predict much better than a lot of people right here.
graham4anything
I don't listen to any of them anymore either

I watch MacLaughlan on Sunday's and that's it...mostly to hear them fight and hear a prediction or two

His "accusations" were so over the top that your claim here is ridiculous. But perhaps this is why you don't see that. What he did was spoof the tactics of Griffin and others, he strung a bunch of perfectly valid facts found on the Internet and made all kinds of unwarranted conclusions, weaving the whole thing together so that it would impersonate a coherent argument. Obviously that would not get him into legal trouble or someone like Griffin would have been imprisoned years ago.

If you had seen what he was doing in his spoof, then you would have had to see how faulty that method of argument is, and would have been faced with the horror of the question of whether Griffin's whole set of theories were no more than a pile of garbage.

Dr. Griffin is a class act.

In your opinion. In my opinion he is a putz. Maybe a sincere, deluded putz, but a putz.

Only if the definition of "smear" is to criticize someone you like.

The question of whether the whole thing was a joke is not a technical question. Magmak was not speaking to that issue, but to the matter of his blog disappearing. And his opinion, any forum member's opinion, does not alter the reality of whether that was a joke or not.
