McCain wants to make the Bush tax cuts permanent...

You know... those tax cuts that gave most of the benefit to the highest bracket taxpayers...

Things like the dividend and capital gains tax cuts that tax LT capital gains at a maximum of 15%... while your wages as a worker can be taxed at up to 35%.

Nice huh...

Then the disingenuous McCain portrays Obama's tax plan, which would bring relief to the working class while taking back some of the wealthfare from the highest income taxpayers, as a tax increase.

Never mind that it would only increase taxes on those who got a holiday / windfall under Bush...

McCain KNOWS that his statements are pure Bullsheet. But... McCain knows that most people get totally lost in issues like taxes and simply believe the rhetoric.

Senator McCain... you are no better than a liar when you make such false representations... and shame on McCain for playing to peoples' ignorance.

We can do better than John McCain.

NO - I agree with your broader picture.

What I'd like to know is where do you think all this money is going to come from to do all this war financing, banking bailouts, etc. The tax cuts won't fund a quarter of what Obama wants to spend. Therein lies my problem with him not being more specific.

The FED keeps printing and the deficit keeps exploding and the dollar continues to be devalued.

The truth is that neither have a solution to the bleeding of red ink. Iraq has been a tremendous financial burden and continues to add billions every month to the national debt. Getting out of Iraq in as expeditious manner as possible should be a priority... and maintaining a permanent presence there should not be the goal as it appears to be with McCain.... at least not to the extent that BushCo and the neo-cons have provided for. To the extent that Obama actually gets us out of Iraq that will be the biggest step toward bringing the deficit back in line that we could make. All other spending that has been talked about pales in comparison.

McCain keeps talking about saving money by making cuts, but until the main source of bleeding is stopped the other program cuts are so minor as to be irrelevant. Yet this is what McCain keeps touting in his speeches... cut the fat. McCain's plan is penny wise and pound foolish and is nothing but meaningless rhetoric until the real issues like Iraq are addressed.

Its the old waste fraud and abuse Republican argument. Their waste fraud and abuse turns out to be Medicare and Social Security. But they do not tell you that before the election.
