"The knowledge acquired from books provides us with building materials, with resources, so why not acquire it? But beware of the conclusions drawn by scholars and philosophers from all these materials they have had at their disposal. When they tell you after years of study and research that they have come to the conclusion that the universe is the work of chance, that there is no order in creation, that the soul and religion are inventions to be rejected, that life is absurd, that the earth is a battleground where each of us must fight tooth and nail not to be devoured by his neighbour, and so on… listen to them out of curiosity if you want, but do not let yourself be influenced by them. Over the centuries, how many times have the conclusions of scientists and philosophers changed! Why base your life on such unstable foundations? All the knowledge you can acquire must lead you toward God, toward an understanding of the meaning of life. Beware of all other conclusions. "

"Love and wisdom are the two foundations of the psychic life. Like heat, love expands consciousness, and like light, wisdom illuminates it. On the screen of your consciousness, an image may be large but blurred, or it may be very precise but very small. This is because, in the first instance, you did not know how to work with wisdom; and, in the second instance, you did not know how to work with love. Wisdom and love must be brought into play together, so that our conscience is at the same time vast and
enlightened. "

"To have faith means to carry out experiments every day which allow us to feel the reality of the divine world. For faith, too, must be nourished. It is nourished progressively as we become conscious of the riches God has deposited in everything around us: the earth, water, air and light, and as we strive to work with them. What good is it to recite that we ‘believe in God, creator of heaven and earth’ if we fail to use this heaven and this earth to help reinforce our faith in him? We are unconscious, negligent and superficial, we sever our ties with the source of life, and then we say: ‘Nothing has meaning, there is no God.’ In fact, if you simply learned to eat and breathe consciously, this meaning would reveal itself to you, and you would feel the divine presence. When you have carried out certain experiments, you will be compelled to feel within you and around you the presence of this divine Being, the Creator of the universe. "

"Doing nothing has never been the best way to relax. The best way to relax is to change activity. And spiritual work is by nature very different from everything you are used to doing. It is not like going off every day to a construction site, a factory or an office in order to earn, sometimes unpleasantly, your living. Spiritual work is a matter of developing the divine part of yourself, which in ordinary life is bullied and smothered by all kinds of occupations and worries. Here, then, is the best way to relax: learn to establish order and harmony in yourself, allow your divine nature to blossom in the light and in love, so that one day you become a benefactor for the entire world."

"People exhaust themselves in seeking power, success, prestige and money. They consider life as a means of obtaining everything they desire, when, on the contrary, they should think of it as a goal and use all their faculties to reinforce it, enlighten it and purify it. When one maintains the life within himself, his intellect understands, his heart loves and rejoices, and his will creates and grows stronger. Otherwise, his intellect grows dim, his heart grows cold and his will wavers. Without life, even science is no longer possible, nor art, nor philosophy. The science of life is the key to all realizations. If you enhance the life within you, if you clear out the spring so that the water runs more freely, you can fill reservoirs and send this life all the way to the intellect which will brighten, to the heart which will open to the vastness of the universe, and to the will which will become creative and inexhaustible."

"The fundamental mission of religion is to help human beings return to the state of peace, joy and light they enjoyed in the beginning when they were still in the bosom of the Eternal. They are far less interested in the origin of creation itself, which is to say, in the efflux from the centre. For example, Moses wrote only one page to explain how God created the world and why Adam and Eve were driven from Paradise. Philosophers, theologians and great initiates have taken an interest in this question, of course, but on the whole they have not considered it a subject sufficiently worthwhile for human beings to bother about. Their concern is rather to find ways of convincing people to return to their place of origin, and to offer them methods for getting there. Human beings left Paradise and strayed from the divine source; we know this, and there is no use emphasizing it. What is important for them now is to discover the path back to their true country, to their celestial home land."

"The first law of morality is very simple and can be observed in the field of agriculture: we reap what we have sown. This means that if you do good, you will one day reap the fruits of it. You will say that we cannot always see the fruits of good in the world. This is because we do not make our observations over a sufficiently long period of time. Cosmic laws are in less of a hurry than we are. They obey another kind of time, and this is why the rewards often appear somewhat delayed…and the punishments too, for that matter. If you become impatient, if you rebel because you feel you have not received the rewards you deserve, you complicate the situation. Why suffer and torment yourself? Sooner or later, without fail, these rewards will come, and if you do not waste time waiting for them, you will be free, detached. If you rebel, it means you are not in possession of the truth. For every good deed you have done, the gifts are already on the way, so have faith!"

"Observe yourself and notice that you always tend to identify with your physical body: you act as though its needs, its satisfactions and dissatisfactions were your needs, satisfactions and dissatisfactions. Your physical body is nothing more than your vehicle. Because human beings confuse themselves with what they are not, they have such difficulty finding themselves, and they put themselves in jeopardy. The physical body is perishable, and, if you identify with it, you perish with it. Whereas, if you identify with your immortal spirit, you become a spark, a flame; you free yourself from your earthly weight and succeed in overcoming all difficulties. Human beings do themselves a great deal of harm by identifying with matter, which is corruptible and ephemeral, instead of identifying with the spirit, which is unchanging and eternal. The physical body is only an instrument which has been given to us so we can live on earth, while our spirit, which leaves the body at the moment of death, continues its journey in the infinite."

"When Christians recite the Lord’s Prayer: ‘Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be your name’, do they understand what it means to sanctify the name of God? Sanctification is connected to the world of thought. It is in our thoughts first of all that we must sanctify the name of God. A name represents, summarizes and contains the entity who bears it. Therefore, when we pronounce the name of God, we call on him, we allow him to penetrate us, we render him present in us. According to the Cabbalah, the name of God is manifold; it is comprised of 72 names, and to know them requires a very long and difficult study. One who knows these 72 names is so impregnated with the holiness and light of God that simply by pronouncing these names he is able to attract God, to bring him down into everything, and to sanctify things, all creatures, all living things. Initiates are not content merely to recite: ‘Hallowed be your name’. They truly sanctify his name in themselves."

"In order to shape metal, it must first be plunged into the fire. This law is also valid on the psychic plane. If you want to modify the condition of your inner being, strive to approach the region of fire, of the spirit, which will melt the matter of your desires, your feelings and your thoughts. Then, by means of meditation and prayer, you can endow this matter with new expressions which are more beautiful and more spiritual. If you refuse to undertake this work, it is your suffering that will burn you and melt you down, because Cosmic Intelligence does not allow human beings to remain stagnant. Well then, do not wait, decide that you want to know the power of the divine fire, to feel it and possess it. Endeavour to understand its nature, how it comes toward us to embrace us and impart its properties to us. We must succeed in absorbing it so that the old forms, already crystallized within us, melt in its heat and can be fashioned anew. "

"In our personal life, each of us must prepare the conditions for the collective life, for the cosmic, universal life. Once we have begun to take care of our own development, we must ask ourselves how we can become a member of the collectivity and contribute to it with our abilities and talents. In adopting this attitude we lose nothing of what we have acquired. On the contrary, it is then that we become truly rich and powerful. Everywhere we hear about strength through unity. Why do we understand this only on the physical plane? It is the unity of men and women working for a universal brotherhood that creates strength, and, with this strength, they will be able to transform the world. The world will never be transformed as long as everyone is content to develop himself and grow rich in his own corner. All must unite in the unique goal of creating a formidable power for the realization of the Kingdom of God on earth. "

"It is obviously not wrong for men and women to seek fulfilment in love. But why, then, do they so rarely find it? After a moment of exaltation, of bliss, why do they meet with disappointment and bitterness? Because their love is not linked to the universal life. In loving each other, their only thought is to separate from everyone and everything, even from heaven and all the intelligent entities who maintain and distribute the energies of love throughout the universe. A love in which the forces of heaven do not participate already bears the seeds of its own destruction. When they strive through their love to enter into cosmic harmony, to unite themselves with the universal soul by offering thanks and glory to heaven, lovers will find the plenitude they are seeking."

"We live on earth, but our true homeland is in heaven, in the divine world, and the knowledge we must acquire to live our earthly life and our heavenly life are obviously different. The official knowledge we receive in schools and universities provides us with material possibilities: a job, money and prestige. But this knowledge does not transform us, and we remain the same, with our uncertainties and our weaknesses. Initiatic knowledge, on the other hand, may not give us position or prestige, but it transforms us, and, in doing so, it gives us access to the divine world. Since human beings are more interested in what brings them material advantages, it is the official knowledge they seek. Unfortunately, this knowledge does not last. We cannot transport it to the other world and acquire it for only one incarnation. And what is one incarnation? A dream, a fleeting dream. Whereas the initiatic knowledge that transforms us and gives us the meaning of life is inscribed in us for eternity"

"Faith is the result of efforts repeated day after day. It is a living thing which we must never separate from our daily life. We must understand this if we are to decipher the meaning of Jesus’ words: ‘If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain: move from here to there, and it will move…’ Yes, we can move a mountain, provided we do not go at it with the idea that we can move it all at once. We can move a mountain, but only by transferring one stone at a time. Each stone moved, or in other words, every success achieved, however small, increases our faith, because we feel more solid, stronger and more in charge of things. Glancing behind us, we measure the distance we have travelled. It is just possible that already, with half the work done, our faith has been reinforced to such an extent that we can move all the rest in one go. "

"Man will always be driven to find ways to postpone old age and death. This is good, because we have work to accomplish on earth, and a long life gives us greater possibilities. But life belongs to God, and to God alone. Whatever we do, we will never conquer sickness and death, that is to say, sickness and death of a physical nature. Sooner or later we must understand that our wish for immortality can be fulfilled only by means of a spiritual practice. The spiritual life is the true panacea which will cure us of all our ills. In the Tree of Life, the universal panacea is related to the sephirah Tiphareth, the sephira of the sun. And this must be understood not only from a physical point of view, but also and above all from a spiritual perspective. The Archangel of the sun is named Mikhael (meaning ‘Who is like unto God’), because for the inhabitants of earth, the life which comes from the sun represents the most powerful and eloquent _expression of divine life. By linking ourselves with the sun, we transform our entire being into a receptacle for the divine life."

"Think of life, how it bursts forth, how it flows, how it quenches the thirst of the universe and all its creatures, how it moves through you. By means of this sensation, this way of understanding life, you will truly enter into relationship with God, your Creator, your Father. Until then you can only have conceptions of him that are false, because they are superficial. Search for God within you, in this life he gave to you. Do not be satisfied with what others have said about his existence or non-existence. Otherwise you will spend your time weighing the pros and cons, asking yourself questions. One day you will believe, another day you will doubt… and in this way you achieve nothing. "You cannot blame parents for desiring their children’s wellbeing and success; they are obviously motivated by love. But their love is not always enlightened, because it does not envision their children’s true evolution. Of course, parents need not wish suffering on their children as a means for their evolution; this is not their concern. They should desire only that their children become benefactors of humanity, and it is for heaven to decide which experiences they must pass through to achieve this. It may send them illness, enemies or disgrace; it doesn’t matter. If parents know how to advise and support their children through trying times instead of attempting to spare them at any price, these children will go far, so far in fact that one day there will be no trace of these trials. Parents love their children, but children who are spared every difficulty by this love become weak and insignificant, nothing more."

Well, this ignoramus must learn first of all that it is impossible to save oneself on one’s own. Why? In the first place, we can never be creators on our own. To have a child we must come out of solitude, which is a sterile state, and find someone else, a woman or a man. Those who wish to remain alone will not only fail to save themselves but will also reap sterility, an abundance of it! To be saved, to enter into the light of God, we must unite ourselves with all those on earth who think of him, who pray for his kingdom and who have decided to work for its coming."

"Every day you meet new people, and instinctively you like some and dislike others. This is natural. But these first impressions of pleasure or displeasure, of like or dislike, are not good criteria for judging people. When you want to establish a lasting relationship with someone as a friend or a colleague, or even as a partner in starting a family, you should try to reason and carefully study the matter. It may well be that this person you find so sympathetic is actually someone evil who will deceive you and make you suffer. At the same time you will have passed by others, perhaps less sympathetic at first sight, who were fair, honest and good, and with whom you could have established a lasting relationship. In your encounters with others, then, call on thoughtfulness and wisdom, which are far more sagacious than your first impressions. "

"Let us study the different elements which make up the sign of Mercury. At the top is the crescent moon, symbol of the feminine principle, which appears as a cup, a receptacle. Below this is the sun, symbol of the masculine principle, and further down still is the sign, which is the symbol of the earth, but also that of addition in arithmetic. In this representation of Mercury we find the four elements: two masculine and two feminine. The two feminine elements are the moon (water) and the earth; and the two masculine elements are the sun (fire) and Mercury itself, which is associated with the element air. So the sun and the moon give birth to the child Mercury, which is the philosopher’s stone, the substance capable of transforming all base metals (symbolized by the earth) into gold. But more importantly, the philosopher’s stone is the symbol of the transformation of man himself, which is the true alchemy."

"Faith is inscribed deep within us. It is God himself who has inscribed it there by means of his presence, out of his wish that we remain eternally connected to him. In order for this faith to manifest itself, we must simply liberate it. When an initiate says to us: ‘Do not sever your link with God’, it is merely a manner of speaking. In reality, we cannot sever the link that unites us with the Creator, because we share the same nature. What can be severed is something in our consciousness, which at a given moment is limited or dim. But our true Self is never far from God, for God is within us just as we are in him. You may ask: ‘But if we have the same nature as the Creator, why is it that we feel different from him?’ Because as we descended into matter, we allowed too many dark, opaque elements to come between our divine spark and our ordinary awareness. Our principle task is to rid ourselves of these dark elements, which is the true meaning of purification. "

"If you want to understand how cosmic laws work, you must learn to observe human beings and events over a long period of time. The physical or psychic organism of someone who does not conduct himself in a reasonable manner is like the wooden framework of a house which is being eaten by woodworms: they do not destroy it from one day to the next, but years later, the house suddenly collapses. And what happens with human beings is true for entire countries as well. Often we realize only a century or two later that a country has gradually fallen into decline. Those who lived through this decline did not notice and let themselves go, unaware of the evil that had begun to worm its way in. If we simply observe people and events as they are now, or over a limited period of time, it is impossible to see how the laws work. "Jesus said, ‘Enter through the narrow gate, for the gate is wide and the road is easy that leads to destruction.’ This narrow gate which allows access to the Kingdom of God is the gate of initiation. Initiation is an asceticism which teaches man how to work on his lower nature. We can compare this asceticism to the narrow passage a snake slides through when it needs to shed its skin. A disciple is one who prepares himself to pass through the narrow gate: there he sheds his old skins, he tears himself from his lower bodies – the astral and mental bodies – in order to live in his higher bodies – the causal, buddhic and atmic bodies. Each of you has been called to pass through this narrow gate. We barely have enough to live on, and my youth is being sapped by household worries. I want beautiful clothes and jewellery, I want to enjoy myself like other women my age.’ Tired of these scenes, the sage finally said to her: ‘All right, if you find a man who you think can make you happier, go off with him, I won’t stop you.’ And eventually she did just that. Then one day the old emperor died. He had no heir, and after they searched the entire country for a worthy successor, they discovered the sage and made him emperor. When his wife learned of it, she came to see him and said: ‘I understand now how foolish and thoughtless I was not to have appreciated your qualities. But forgive me, I was young. I want to come back and live with you.’ He listened to her patiently without reproaching her in the least, then turned to a servant and said: ‘Bring me a cup of the most precious liqueur.’ Once the cup was in hand, he emptied it on the ground and said to his wife: ‘If you can recover this liqueur in its original state of purity, I will agree to take you back.’ And his wife cried, knowing it was impossible. "So many people dread growing older, because they see old age as a period of decline! The truth is that the older people get, the greater their potential for becoming clear-sighted, luminous and powerful. If this is not what we see most of the time, it is because they are so accustomed to identifying with their physical body that they submit passively to all its trials and tribulations. For the true spiritualist who has learned to free himself from the constraints of the physical plane and to identify with the spirit, the opposite is true: his thinking becomes increasingly vital and creative. The spirit is all-powerful, immortal and all-knowing, and by identifying with it, man goes beyond the constraints of matter. The body must submit to its laws, but the spirit is free of them. But when this occurs, strive to do everything possible to rescue yourself quickly from this state, or you will end up bound hand and foot, completely overwhelmed. "Like nature, the human being is a creation of God. How absurd, then, that certain creatures do not recognize they have a Creator! How can they refuse to acknowledge something so perfectly obvious: that creation and creatures by necessity have a Creator? When a crime has been committed, we begin by asking ourselves who the perpetrator is. In most cases, he is long gone by then. He has not stayed near his ‘handiwork’, and yet no one doubts that this work has a perpetrator! In the same way, when a painting is discovered without a signature and we do not know to which painter we should attribute it, we do not say that no one painted it. We simply say that the painter is ‘unknown’. Although we have no idea who the painter is, it would never occur to us to doubt his existence. Why then do some claim that this grandiose, sublime work of creation has no author, that it is the product of chance? Let them say instead, if they wish, that the creator is unknown, but to deny this author’s existence is the greatest possible aberration. "

What the human being fashions or constructs on the physical level is important, of course, but his psychic creations are infinitely more important. It is on these creations, which are living entities, that heaven will judge him. Most human beings do not have mastery over their thoughts, and they populate space with harmful entities which go everywhere spreading discord and chaos. Christians must meditate on this commandment, because after two thousand years of Christianity, it is obvious from their conduct that most of them have not yet understood it, much less put it into practice. To reject a human being, to despise him and humiliate him, is to declare that he is not a creature of God. No one has the right to declare such a thing; no one has the right to place himself between a human being and his heavenly Father. A person is obviously free to cut himself off from divine love by his own volition, but no one else can cut him off. No one has the right to do so. All are welcome in the house of the Father. Even his wayward children are welcomed when they sincerely wish to return, and their heavenly Father celebrates their homecoming. Have you read the parable of the prodigal son?"

"There are men and women whose talent amazes us; they have a gift. And what is a gift? It is an entity who has come to dwell in them in order to manifest itself through them. Of course our contemporaries, who want to appear rational, would never admit to this idea that talents and abilities are entities who dwell in human beings. But then why is it that people sometimes lose these gifts? Precisely because it is a guest who very much wanted to make its home in them, but as they created intolerable conditions for it, this being eventually left. This has happened to many people who, instead of carefully guarding their treasure, squandered it on a life of mindless escapades, dishonesty and intrigue. They assumed their talent was theirs to keep forever, but no, this is unfortunately not the case. If you do not want to lose your gifts, or if you want to amplify them or acquire others, you must prepare suitable conditions for these celestial entities: peace, harmony and light."

"When you follow a spiritual teaching, it is assumed, of course, that you are going to instruct yourself by reading and by attending lectures or conferences, in order to have a clear idea of the path on which you are engaged. But readings, courses and conferences will not be enough, since they nourish only the intellect, which stays on the surface of things and does not touch what is essential. Follow a spiritual teaching is not only a means of instructing yourself, but a means of linking yourself with heaven, of experiencing feelings and states of consciousness of a higher order which allow you to discover other regions within yourself. This is why you must undertake an inner work in which the heart, soul and spirit play the greatest part. The intellect’s role is merely to show you which path to take, to give you the reasons for taking it, and no more. All the rest of the work must be done by the heart, the soul and the spirit."

"Strive to become conscious of the bonds that unite you not only with members of your family but also with society as a whole. And what is the nature of these bonds? Each time you advance, the riches and the light you gain reflect on the people to whom you are connected. Because of your progress, they progress as well. They may not notice, but heaven sees that they progress because of you. And in the same way, if you begin to lose your light, to deteriorate, your family and the society that are linked to you are subjected to negative influences because of you. This is how we carry others along with us in the direction of heaven or hell. Oh yes, each of us is responsible. So, do you wish to be useful, to help the whole of humanity and even animals, plants and stones? Then strive each day to make your life purer, richer and more luminous. You will subtly and imperceptibly lead all of creation heavenward, and the invisible world, noting that you bring blessings to all beings, will come to reward you."

"Daily life is like a current that sweeps you along, and you do not always have the time and opportunity to reflect and to see where it is taking you. This is why you endlessly allow yourself to be taken up by all sorts of engagements and activities. At the time they seem useful and reasonable, but after a while you realize you have lost a good deal of time and energy with little to show for it. This is not to say you should take no interest in things outside the spiritual life: all activity can be beneficial, as long as it is attached to a high ideal, a divine philosophy. If you are suspended on a rope that is solid and well attached, you can maintain balance in all directions. But if the knot is not solid or the rope is worn, you will fall and break your back. We always come back to the importance of the link, our link withheaven. As long as you maintain this link, each of your activities can bring you something beneficial."

"Anyone can claim to be an artist, of course. The true artist, however, is one who is able to enter inwardly into relationship with the divine world and to maintain this connection. Be they painters, sculptors, architects, dancers, musicians or poets, it is only this link with the divine world that can introduce into their creative work this element of the eternal that gives a work of art its worth. Before they set to work, artists must collect themselves, meditate and ask heaven for its blessings if they wish to become true creators, for only heaven can bring them this light which illuminates the imagination. For their efforts to rise in themselves, to project themselves into higher realms, they are given the revelation of true beauty, as well as the ability to express and transmit it. If, when he is inspired, man is able to create masterpieces, it is because his whole being is impregnated with this spiritual light he has received. Only the spirit within him is capable of producing creations that are immortal."

"So many believers imagine that to please God, they need only keep his name constantly on their lips and conduct ceremonies in which they offer prayers to him and sing his praises! After that, it doesn’t matter if they behave badly, because God is a lenient and merciful Father who will easily forgive them all their faults. But tell me, are there many parents who would agree to such a situation? What parents would allow their children to behave however they like, providing the children praise them as the greatest, the wisest and the strongest? God is lenient and merciful, but only in the sense that he does not demand that we triumph over ourselves without fail. What he does require is that we have a clear idea of the direction we must take, and that we make efforts to walk the right path and to correct our mistakes when we make them."

"The seal of Solomon is a figure formed by two equilateral and intersecting triangles. (Diagram) The triangle pointing upwards represents the human being, striving toward the divine world through his spiritual work. The triangle pointing downwards represents the descent of the divine world, which seeks to penetrate the human being with its light. The circulation of energies from one world to the other is indicated by the fact that the two triangles not only intersect but communicate. Unity is the truth of creation: thanks to the relationship they maintain with one another, the higher and the lower, the superior and the inferior, spirit and matter must become one, for in this fusion, one never ceases to enrich the other. That which is inferior is absorbed by that which is superior and, at the same time, becomes its material receptacle as well."

"If you examine the matter closely, you will see that the unconscious often plays a large part in scientific discoveries. Many scientists are not even sure at first what they are looking for; they are simply motivated by the certainty that if they continue in a certain direction, they will find something. And the constancy and intensity of their efforts sometimes bring them close to a state of astral projection, in which they are launched into unknown regions they could never have imagined. This is why, all of a sudden and when they are least expecting it, the solution comes to them. For others this can happen while they are sleeping. The soul of the human being travels, and, unbeknownst to him, it makes contact with other worlds. Even if, in the name of objectivity and rationality, scientists do not accept this idea, they too have a soul which travels, which has encounters and returns with revelations. If you question them, they will tell you they made their discoveries quite by chance. No, there is no such thing as ‘by chance’; pre-existing conditions led them to come upon this ‘chance’"

"The wood we use to make a fire is said to be dead: branches that are lifeless, black, twisted and devoid of all beauty. But once they are on fire, how bright and splendid they are! These branches which otherwise would have remained abandoned and useless somewhere are transformed by the fire into light, heat and energy. You may say: ‘Yes, of course, we’ve seen this. But how do these dead branches concern us?’ They concern you because symbolically they exist in you as well. Within yourself, you too have accumulated piles of dead wood which are just waiting to be burned. All egotistical and passionate tendencies, all manifestations of the lower nature are like dead wood. Burn them in the fire of the spirit, in the fire of divine love, and they too will produce light, heat and life."

"The moment you decide to embrace a religion, a spiritual philosophy, and to put its principles into practice, you will be faced with difficulties not only in yourself, because of all the efforts required, but with others who may not understand the changes taking place in you. Well, know that it is precisely these difficulties and how you resolve them that will reveal the quality of your spiritual commitment. If by your fanatical conduct you cause someone to become aggressive and to sink deeper into his materialism because you insist on showing him your spirituality, you are responsible. Try instead to show understanding and patience, and not only will you succeed in getting him to accept your new life, but you may even persuade him to follow your example."

"Imagine you are on a beach by the sea. There, you stir the water with a small stick, creating swirls. Little by little, twigs, scraps of paper and corks begin to circle round. And soon, if you continue, small boats, then large ships, and finally the entire world begins to turn in the circle. The etheric ocean in which we are immersed is similar to this liquid ocean, and if we practise and persevere, by means of thought we can stir the entire world. Strive, therefore, to understand the few principles on which the spiritual life is based, in order to become conductors of the divine world, workers in the field of the Lord. By means of thought, maintain this inner movement unfailingly until all the particles of your being are mobilized in the realization of this luminous work you have undertaken – a work not only on yourself, but on all the creatures of the earth, and even beyond, on the entire universe."

"All too often, those in the presence of someone who is dying exclaim, ‘Oh, he only has a few hours to live’, convinced that since it is irreversible, the details of the situation no longer matter. On the contrary, the moments that precede death are extremely important, because the incarnation that follows depends a great deal on them. The state of consciousness of the dying in these moments is active in the other world until his next incarnation. You have observed that the state in which you go to sleep acts on you during the night and influences how you wake up the following day. Even when you have had a good day, if you go to bed in a negative state, the next day you will wake up indisposed. On the other hand, even when your day was not so great, if you go to bed with good thoughts and feelings, these last moments will repair everything, brighten everything, and you will wake up the next day in the best of moods. Well, these same laws operate from one life to the next."

"Materially, physically, it is possible for your belongings to be taken from you. With regard to the inner life, however, you can only lose something that does not belong to you, something that is not yet part of you. It is impossible to lose what you truly possess. If people say, ‘I had faith but now I’ve lost it…’ or ‘I was in the light, and now I ‘m in darkness…’ or ‘I loved, but now love has abandoned me’, it means that neither faith, light nor love has ever truly belonged to them. Those who profoundly aspire to have faith, light and love must themselves become faith, light and love. Jesus said, ‘I am the light of the world.’ He did not say that the light was in him or with him, but that he was the light. He identified with the light. This formula contains an entire science, and you must meditate on it. "

"Because they have not yet discovered all the mysteries of the human being, those who interpret the sacred books are unable to decipher them correctly. If they heard me say this, of course, they would protest and retaliate. But I do not have time to argue; I only know that the sacred books exist because certain beings have existed who were capable of translating the spiritual realities they discovered in themselves and in the universe. Human beings are strange: they are capable of assigning great importance to things of little importance, yet they remain unconscious of all that is so precious, irreplaceable and unique in themselves. That the Creator has made them in his image, that they contain all the wonders of heaven and earth, this hardly arouses their interest. They value only books. What reasoning! Books, even the sacred books, are human works, whereas the human being is divine."
