... To what serves contemporary knowledge? The people know the name of germs, insects, protozoons, rarest animals, stars; they know how to manufacture objects, classify them, make clothes, build houses; they know how to complicate the situations, divorce, be imprisoned, then escape, they manage... Which enormous knowledge! But question remains composed: can this knowledge save us?
A scientist made a walk in sea, on a small boat. To converse with the skipper, he asks him:
- " Do you know astronomy?"
- "No, my parents were poor, I did not study."
- "Sorry, you lost at least the quarter of your life. And mathematics?"
- "No, I know hardly how to make an addition and a subtraction."
- "Oh! You lost two quarters of your life. Then you know at least the chemistry and the physics?"
- "No, I do know nothing of that kind", answered the sailor, sad and humble, whereas the scholar throwed out his chest.
During the conversation, the wind had got up and the storm threatened; the boat was about to turn over. The skipper asked:
- "Sir scholar, do you know how to swim?"
- "No..."
- "Then, you must pray, because the four quarters of your life are lost, it is sure."
So, a theoretical knowledge, so immense it is, can not save you. How many scholars of this kind I met! In particular doctors, keen on knowledge on all the diseases, but incapable to cure them. All this is only a common, ordinary knowledge, seen with the eyes of Initiated. It allows you hardly to exploit you in meetings around one cup of tea. I went yesterday to an invitation. When one invites a "Initiate" or an occultist, conversation turns almost always to the mystery of pyramids, priests of Egypt and the Pharaohs. And the invited occultists, to make good figure and to be able to eat cakes, gathers some notions in books and they keep rehearsing them in any occasions. But their life does not improve, on the contrary, their weaknesses increase. For me, these conversations do not please me. Then I cut short and I direct questions somewhere else: how to eat, how to behave, how to live... To show some learning to get calling up: "Master, dear Master", no! Some have four mistresses and some illegitimate childrens, they are "masters"! The others have debts, they are "masters"! They drink, they make good expensive, they are "masters"! They feed black market, they are "masters"!
All these "tricks" can not take you out of the difficulties where you sank. One needs a new, effective, authentic knowledge, which helps us in all the circumstances.
It is necessary to know how to swim to move in the ocean of the life.
The man needs an unchanging, rustproof knowledge, a knowledge which is a part of him, which is inseparable of him. It is this knowledge that brings the Teaching of the great Universal White Brotherhood, which has nothing to do with all these old practices, or with theoretical knowledge incapable to release itself.
What is important, it is to know how to think, to smell, to act, to breathe, to eat, to remain healthy or to be cured, it is to know how to behave to be useful for himself, for his close relations, for his friends, for the society and for the world.
You say: "Nothing new in all this."
- Are you very sure? If you are already so learned, it is necessary now to realize things in the physical plane. Take tools, look after plants, cut trees by speaking to them; you will have blisters and aches, but you will learn something of the new life. It is the way of the cure and the resurrection....

« The goal of the spiritual life is to get to know this state of higher consciousness called "divine love." This state of mind cannot be described or explained to someone who is not ready to live it; all that can be done is to try gradually to lead him there. This state of mind allows man to feel himself linked inwardly to the whole universe; he is then like an instrument whose strings vibrate in unison with all that exists, he feels a deep peace and, above all, a tremendous kindness toward all beings. He does not know where these good dispositions come from, he just feels that they have invaded his whole being and that they drive him to express himself with love and comprehension. Nature and human beings appear to him in a new light, and he feels that this is true happiness. »

The Snares of Occultism
« For centuries the Church told Christians that the only thing that mattered was faith. When they asked questions they were told that it was a mystery, that they only had to believe and they would be saved; it was not necessary to understand. Those who refused to accept this were persecuted.
But it is not true that belief is enough. Religion is not only a question of faith. All true religion is founded on knowledge, and it is because the Church did not give the faithful the knowledge they needed to nourish their intellect as weft as their soul and spirit that, in the long run, they either lost their faith because they had the impression that they were being asked to believe something that was absurd, or they went elsewhere for their spiritual nourishment. Although the Church was wrong to oppose the Initiatic tradition, the present situation is not necessarily an improvement. There is considerable danger in making the occult sciences and all the different spiritualities of the world accessible to anyone and everyone.
Don't make the mistake of thinking that those who are attracted to the occult sciences are necessarily motivated by lofty mystical or spiritual aspirations. Not at all! Many of them are simply looking for money, power, glory or pleasure, and they launch into an exploration of occultism as though it were a supermarket in which they could pick up all kinds of fantastic bargains, some of which (drugs, black magic, unbridled sex) are very dangerous. For there is no lack of either appetite or covetousness in human beings; what is lacking is the intelligence, patience and perseverance they need to obtain what they covet. They are always trying to achieve their ends faster and with less effort, and today the occult sciences offer them the means to do so.
You must never try to use occult practices in order to fulfil your personal ambitions. Occultism is not true spiritual science; in fact, for my part, I prefer to avoid the term "occult", for the occult sciences are a mixture of good and evil and there are all too many occultists who dip into the darker side of these sciences.
A truly spiritual person will never try to use his knowledge or his psychic powers for his personal enrichment. His only ideal is to become perfect and to work in, with and for the light so as to become a true child of God and a benefactor of mankind. »

Firm could provide tsunami-warning gear

HOUSTON - A Houston maker of seismic equipment, best known for its oil-field products, is seen as a prime candidate for a tsunami early warning system for the Indian Ocean.
OYO Geospace has the equipment and technology that could serve as the nerve system for an early warning system designed to mitigate the death toll of future tsunamis caused by earthquakes.
Its parent company has built such systems before, but an ambitious project off Japan has run up against budgeting delays. Last week's disaster resulting in the deaths of tens of thousands has made building an earthquake warning system a priority in South Asia.
OYO Chairman, President and Chief Executive Gary Owens said last week that his e-mail inbox has been filled with messages from there.
The Houston operation makes ocean-bottom sensors used to search for oil and gas, and it also makes sensors specifically designed for picking up the earthquake vibrations.
The sensors used to detect earthquakes aren't much different than those used for finding potential oil deposits, Owens said. But the earthquake sensors are considerably larger and calibrated to pick up lower frequencies than those used for finding oil or natural gas.

"When people meet artists – painters, poets, musicians – whose works they admire, they are often surprised to discover that they as people and their behaviour are completely devoid of the beauty found in their creations: they emanate neither light, nor poetry, nor harmony. Why? Because for the most part, artists are content to create works outside themselves using materials exterior to themselves. It is on this outer material that they concentrate their efforts. Well, this is insufficient. Art must not merely be confined to certain works, but it must also exist in life. The true artist is one who can use himself as the material for his creation. All the methods of the spiritual life are at our disposal, to help and inspire us in this work. Yes, it is in ourselves first of all that we must create poetry and music, harmonious forms and movements and sparkling colours, so that all those around us, in the visible and invisible worlds alike, can benefit from them."

Solve et Coagula,
First of all let me apologize for posting my topic four times on your beautiful philosophy and aesthetics ideas here. First our school district server was down and when I was finally able to come here and post an article from "SiliconValley.com" I happened to be reading this post and it was the only place I could maneuver from. Sounds silly but it's true. Then when I tried to enter my post, it wouldn't take it so I must have clicked three more times. I was trying to just get out the door to go home and I wanted to shut the computer off. What I day it was the first day back to school after the holiday.
I'm not sure what I think of this particular idea here about artists and their work. As an artist, I believe that art is the "process of making art" and the finished product is whatever the viewer gets from it. I rarely agree with what the critics and art historians say. What do they know? If they could make art, they wouldn't be critics.

"Whatever the time, wherever you are, you must give priority to the light. When you awaken during the night and want to get up, isn’t your first gesture to turn on the light? You know that if you venture into the darkness you will bump into the furniture, break things and hurt yourself. Why then have you not understood the importance of light in the conduct of your inner life? You advance in the dark, and then you are surprised when you are unable to orientate yourself and you stumble into things right and left. You must seek the light, concentrate on it, place it above all the treasures of the earth and even endeavour to drink it, to eat it. Whenever you have a moment, close your eyes and visualize this light which permeates the entire universe and is the source of all blessings."

Visualization
«Some occult schools recommend that their adepts learn the method of visualization in order to realize their desires. What they fail to explain to them, is the harm they will suffer if their wishes, their desires are too personal, too selfish, too egoistical, that is, if they go against divine order. You must understand that finally: in one way or an other, everything can become reality, and herein lies the danger. You may say, you do not see where the danger lies. Well, if your desires are fullfilled, who is to say you will not suffer? You will suffer because you did not know how to foresee the complications which will result from it, because you did not know how to predict the complications that would follow, because you failed to study carefully the relationships between these desires and the laws of nature and life.
It is permissible to use thought to help realize your desires, but carefully study, carefully scrutinize the nature of these desires. Because if they are too personal, if they do not vibrate in accordance, in harmony with the order established by God throughout all creation, they will conflict with divine laws, and even if you have some success at first, you will eventually have troubles to cope with. »

« Human beings have organs allowing them to grasp the realities of the invisible world and throughout time there have been people who have developed these organs. But because of their subtle nature it has never been possible to describe them, to represent them in the same way as the organs of the physical body. This is why every spiritual tradition has described them differently and called them different names, such as: the pineal gland, the third eye, the chakras, etc. But this is not important. What is important is knowing we all possess these subtle centres and they are as real as the organs of our physical body. And if these centres are no longer in working order in most people, it is because they have become too focused on the material, they have become too materialistic.
Interest in psychic faculties is growing nowadays. All too often, however, the methods used are not the best and some concentration and visualisation exercises are even dangerous. Not to mention the use of drugs, based on recipes borrowed from the American Indians and the shamans of Siberia. Leave those methods to the people who have inherited them through thousands of years of tradition. They are not meant for us. You should work with the methods of wisdom and love, and try each day to triumph over your weaknesses. This is how you will activate all these subtle centres within you and they will put you in contact with the spiritual world. »

Mediumistic faculties and psychic imbalance
«Why are so many people who are mentally, spiritually, and emotionally unbalanced? Because they have developed the feminine principle too much within themselves, the principle that is passive and receptive. These people unreservedly open themselves up to all influences and after a time they lose their way. They should theirfor ponder, study, analyze effects these influences have on their inner life, and only accept those which are beneficial and reject the others. In other words, they must develop the masculine principle within themselves. And this is particularly true for people with mediumistic faculties, which are typically feminine faculties in that they imply receptivity. The crystal ball used by some mediums as support of their clairvoyance, is the equivalent to the feminine principle in nature: water. Being a medium implies being receptive to spirits and energies in the invisible world. But these spirits and energies are not all luminous, pure, and beneficial. It is therefore important for all those with natural mediumistic gifts to train themselves to determine the nature of these psychic currents or energies, and to develop their will so that they can reject the dark energies. »

«One sometimes sees very sensitive mediums who are in a deplorable state because they have no means of defending themselves against astral entities. It is all right to be sensitive to the invisible world, provided you first exercise judgement and will-power. To make contact with the invisible world, you must abandon yourself, one way or the other, to the influence of the spirits.
But not all spirits of the invisible world are favorably disposed towards human beings. There exist dark entities that take advantage of defenseless human beings and receive them, use them and steal their energies. And after a while, these poor souls are completely exhausted and umbalanced.
Before embarking on certain psychic experiences, people have to know what the risks are and be able to face up them. It is not enough to feel an attraction for some aspects of occult sciences. All genuine Masters will tell you this and will have you wait the necessary time before they make revelations. But the day they consider you to be sufficiently purified and reinforced, it is they who will unveil the truth, and then everything you wanted to see or know, will become accessible to you. »

What is a Spiritual Master?
«The spiritual world being what it is, it is better not to try to explore it at all, rather than to do so without a guide, as so many have done to their regret. They have bought some books that explain various techniques of concentration, meditation or deep breathing and, on the strength of this, they begin to practise all kinds of exercises that end by unsettling them both physically and psychically.
Isn't it rather surprising that so many people who would never dream of climbing a mountain without a guide are ready to venture into the psychic world all alone? The extraordinary thing is that they never seem to realize that the risk of losing their way, falling into a ravine or being buried by an avalanche is far greater in the psychic world; they are sure that they can find their way perfectly well by themselves. No wonder there are so many so-called "spiritual" people who are unbalanced!
You will say, "Yes, but how can you recognize a true Master? There are so many fakes and charlatans who are all too ready to take advantage of our naivety!"
A true Master, in the spiritual sense of the term, is,
- first of all, one who is versed in the essential truths. Someone who is learned, not in the theories of human philosophers and thinkers but in what Cosmic Intelligence sees to be essential.
- Secondly, he must be someone who has succeeded in controlling, mastering and governing every aspect of his own being.
- And, finally, he must be someone who uses his knowledge and mastery for no other purpose than to manifest the qualities and virtues of disinterested love. It is this quality of disinterestedness that is the mark of a true Master.
In coming into the world, each spiritual Master has the mission to manifest one particular quality more than others: there are Masters of wisdom, Masters of love or strength or purity, and it is up to each one of you to choose the Master with whom you sense the greatest affinity in view of your own spiritual growth.
But disinterestedness is the one quality that is necessarily common to all the great spiritual Masters. »

Spirituality
«For far too many people, spirituality consists of reading esoteric books. They do not understand a great deal of what they are reading and it is all of little use to them because it is all merely theory (theories that are not always very accurate or even contradictory at that) of which they can make no sense. But what does it matter? And so they continue to devour their books.
When will they understand that spirituality is about choosing a few methods and studying those well and putting them into practice. Because what really matters is life, the divine life human beings must live. Divine life will bring them all the knowledge of Heaven and earth.
People who are content with just reading books are wasting their time. Even if they are able to explain the contents perfectly, they are fully aware that behind the explanations lurks a void, because no love, no light, no deep understanding emanates from them. Love and light are not obtained by reading but by applying the rules of initiatic science day to day. »

Why is Life so Unjust? - the Law of Reincarnation
«As we go through life we come across people who are rich, handsome, intelligent, powerful and successful in every way. And then we see others who are so poor and defenceless that their life is an endless series of failures. What is the reason for such differences in their circumstances? Many people are outraged by what they think of as the injustice of fate. If you ask a scientist to explain these inequalities he will say that it is a question of chance. And if you ask a priest or a pastor he will tell you that it is the will of God. Some might talk about predestination and grace, but that only adds to the injustice! In any case, to say that "it is the will of God" is almost the same thing as saying that "it is a question of chance".
If we analyse the priest's answer we are forced to conclude that God gives everything to some and nothing to others. We don't know why; that's just the way it is. But that's not all: it seems that He gets very angry when those to whom He has given nothing good, either in themselves or in their circumstances, turn out to be vicious and stupidand commit crimes. He even punishes them! Since God is almighty He could have made all His creatures magnificent, but He didn't. So not only is it His fault if men commit crimes but He then punishes them for their crimes. No wonder so many people have a horror of religion!
The truth is that there is a very good reason for all the apparent injustices of life, and that is the law of reincarnation. The Church has never realized that, by denying this law, it was portraying the Lord as a monster of cruelty.
The explanation is simple: at the beginning God gave us everything. But He also gave us freedom, and we have used that freedom to indulge in some very costly experiences. Of course, the Lord sees all this but as He is generous and patient He lets us work things out for ourselves. He says, "My poor children are going to suffer and run into trouble, but that doesn't matter: all my love and wealth is there, waiting for them. They have plenty of reincarnations ahead of them in which to learn wisdom." In other words, God lets us exercise our freedom, and all the bad things that happen to us happen through our own fault: we have deserved them. And we have also deserved all the good things that happen to us: they are the results of our efforts in previous incarnations.
Why does the Church put all the blame on God for what happens to us? Perhaps you will object, "The Church doesn't blame God; it has simply suppressed the belief in reincarnation." Yes, but if you think about it, you will see that it amounts to the same thing. And it is very serious, because the knowledge about this law of reincarnation is one of the cornerstones of morality. As long as people are unaware of the law of cause and effect which carries over from one incarnation to the next, no amount of preaching or sermonizing will do any good. They won't change. And not only will they refuse to change but, seeing themselves as the victims of social injustice, they will rebel against their fate and become more and more jealous and full of hate for those who seem to be more privileged, with the result that their situation will be even more complicated. But someone who knows that all the difficulties and hardships of this life are the result of his past transgressions will not only accept them as just but will also make up his mind to work for good so as to enjoy better conditions in his future incarnations. »

A higher justice
«Suppose that you have been deceived or wronged by someone, and now you go round telling everyone what they have done to you. You think that this is just and normal. You are simply setting the record straight. Well, it is this idea of justice that is the cause of all evils. Leave justice alone. How should you deal with such a situation? You must fall back on a principle far superior to justice, a principle based on love, goodness and generosity.
Although Jesus brought us these new teachings two thousand years ago, Christians have continued to apply the law of retaliation: "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth." They still have not understood that if they want to become truly great and free, they must progress beyond the idea of justice. How? Well, let us say that you have done someone a favour, given him some money for example. Then one day you discover that this person has behaved badly towards you, so you go round telling the whole world what you did for him, and complaining that he did not deserve your generosity and trust. But why tell them all this? In telling everyone not only about your good deed, but also about how much you now regret it, you are simply undoing all the good you did. It was written in the celestial records that you would be rewarded for the good deed you had done, but now your actions wipe that entry off the register. Even if people deceive or wrong you, you should never broadcast the fact. Above all, you must never seek revenge. On the contrary, your own behaviour should be an example to them. One day they will be ashamed of themselves and do all they can to make amends. Close your eyes to their wrongdoing and practise a little forgiveness. Only in this way will you yourself grow morally and spiritually.
From now on you must try to understand how much you can benefit from the light of initiation. An ordinary person who has been deceived or wronged is obviously tempted to retaliate and teach his enemy a lesson, and everyone will consider this perfectly normal and "fair". Fair, perhaps, according to the ordinary conception of justice, but downright stupid in the eyes of the divine world. For when people rely on their instincts and the desire for revenge they become caught up in a vicious circle from which they cannot escape. Have they rid themselves of an enemy? Perhaps, but there will always be plenty more where that one came from, and they will have to try and get rid of them too. In this way they will be nurturing feelings and attitudes which will only serve to strengthen their lower nature. Besides, their hard-won triumphs will be short-lived, for their enemies will find them again in a future incarnation, and will have every opportunity to take their revenge. So you see, this old understanding of the notion of justice offers no solution-on the contrary, it complicates things, burdens one's existence, increases one's karmic debts, and leads eventually to one's downfall.
Those who are truly spiritual and who know the law, go about it quite differently. They leave their enemies strictly alone and let them develop as they please. They already know how they will turn out if they continue in this vein. Instead of meddling in their lives, they start to work on themselves. They pray, meditate, study, and practise, and little by little they gain true wisdom, true power.
Of course, in order to resist the temptation to use the same weapons as those who wrong you, you need great reserves of love, goodness, patience, and light. But believe me when I say that this method is the most effective. You leave your enemies alone. You have nothing to do with them. You concentrate exclusively on your own self-improvement. And when they see you, they will feel so ugly, dull and stupid in comparison that, sooner or later, they will regret their attitude and try to make amends for what they did to you.
There is a law in nature which decrees that one day, if not in this incarnation, then in the next, those who have let you down, wronged you, hurt you or betrayed your trust will be obliged to find you and make reparation for their faults. It is possible that, when this day comes, you instinctively feel that these people are old enemies, and you may be tempted to avoid them. But it will make no difference; they will continue to hang around you asking you to let them do things for you. This is the way the law works. Many people have already felt its effects. So you see, all those who have hurt you, and whom you have forgiven, will be obliged (whether they like it or not-their opinion does not count) to seek you out and make good any wrongs they have done you.
I am not saying you should allow yourself to be wiped out by the wicked. No, you must get your own back, but in such a way that it creates in the hearts and souls of your enemies an aboutturn that will have the advantage of benefiting both you and them. »

The law of love, greater then the law of justice
«Love is a form of injustice. But before learning to manifest this injustice, i.e. love, we must learn to manifest justice. Moses imposed on the Jewish people ruthless laws upholding such principles as "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth"... The slightest error had to be punished. There was never any question of leniency or forgiveness. But that was understandable, since humankind was at a degree of evolution where it needed stringent rules. At that time, justice was already considerable progress in itself. But this situation could not last for ever, because God is clement and merciful, and human beings, who were created in His image, had to become clement and merciful like Him. This is why Jesus came to teach forgiveness. If you look at how he behaved with the disgraced and the sinners you see that he transgressed the law of justice by his attitude, but by transgressing the law of justice, he instituted the law of love. »
«It is when one has no more love that laws and rules are needed; and even at this moment, laws and rules do not serve in much. As long as there is no love, there will be religions which will never be able to bring the human beings towards God. But when love will come, there will be no more religion. Religion will become internal and will show itself under shape of kindness, brilliance, sacrifice, sweetness and light. It is when love left the humanity that religion has come to compensate for it. But when love will come, religion will fade because it will have entered again the heart of the man. »

Technical progress and spiritual developement
«Human beings are using technological progress to benefit their greed, with the risk of destroying the very basis of their existence on earth. This is why technological progress is not truly progress. Of course it is really quite something to be able to send craft into space and to other planets. But at the end of the day, what is the purpose of all this? To exploit the resources and cause the same damage as here on earth? To fight in space? To go and cause havoc all over the universe? There is nothing inherently wrong with wanting to explore the cosmos, but not before having found the right attitude to adopt here on earth. Human beings respect nothing. They think they are the masters of the universe. They are prepared to upset everything to satisfy their curiosity and their cupidity. Well, they have to be aware that one day they will have to pay dearly for this lack of respect and this violence. »
« People are led to believe that their happiness depends on scientific and technical progress and also on comfort. In whatever domain, they are continually bombarded with publicity; every effort is made to prevent them from making contact with other regions, other entities (the only ones that could bring them the light, love and peace they need). The spiritual world has been so rejected, scorned and held up to ridicule that very few beings feel the urge to search in this world for the necessary elements of their survival. Most people are dying of suffocation and intoxication. For their own good, they must search more and more for a contact with this subtle world so that their soul and spirit can breathe and find nourishment. When we meditate we do not touch anything material; it seems like "emptiness". But actually it is in this "emptiness" that the soul and spirit blossom and find fulfillment. »
« Technological progress has given humankind great possibilities. This is a good thing, but all these new facilities and opportunities lead them to expect everything from outside and to become heedless, thoughtless, and fickle. We can neglect our health: there are doctors, surgeons, dentists, chemists, etc. We can waste paper, ruin appliances, break objects, soil and tear our clothes, throw away food: there is plenty more of everything in the shops.
This is how care and attention, vigilance, and discernment gradually wane. Why develop these qualities when there are so many people and products available to repair the damage we have done? Scientists, researchers, technicians are all there to help people with their inventions. In reality, however, they help the manufacturers get richer, and make the people increasingly weak and dependent. I am not saying we should put a halt to technological progress, but we must also continue to work in the inner domain in order to cultivate care and attention, prudence, and selfcontrol. »
« How often do you meet people who, without being forced by circumstances, decide to work? It is an innate tendency of human beings to avoid effort and to unload their tasks onto others, be they human beings, animals, or machines. Today, of course, with our technical progress, they especially look to machines to do their work. As a result, some of their faculties become dulled, their will in particular. Those who want to become equal to every situation must make a habit of striving. Even if these days we can acquire many things without effort, we must resist succumbing to this climate of ease. Otherwise, what will be the result? We will be outwardly fulfilled, and that is all. Inwardly, we will have nothing; we will be lost. It is their efforts which keep human beings on their feet and full of life. »
« It does not take much to provide for one's material life, and yet human beings are so busy creating new needs for themselves that they no longer have any time to devote to their spiritual lives. As a result, their material comfort gradually improves, but their psychic and moral states deteriorate. Everywhere we see mental problems and criminal behaviour. Materially, we in the West have never been so well off, but in the deepest sense, this ease does not enhance peoples' serenity. After the first moments of satisfaction, a new washing machine, a new car, or a new house will not respond to the needs of their heart and soul. There is no doubt that people are conscious of this decline in society, because they spend their time in meetings talking about changing their lives. But all the changes they discuss concern only the material realm. Who considers holding meetings to help people live the divine life? That is why, even if business gets better and better, human beings are beginning to collapse. Is it reasonable to sacrifice people to business? »
« Everywhere in the world people complain that technical progress generates pollution: toxic products pollute everything (the earth, the water, the air) and plants, fish, birds and human beings are threatened more and more every day. Remedies are hard to find, and even if they were found, they would touch only the exterior side of things, the physical plane, and that is insufficient. For toxic products, exhaust gases, and smoke are everywhere in the psychic world as well, and they are asphyxiating mankind. Nowadays there are many sick people, but it is not only due to the pollution of air, water and food. No! If the psychic atmosphere were not so polluted, human beings would be able to neutralize all external poisons. Evil lives first within us. When human beings live in harmony, the forces they possess inside react and reject impurities, even those present in the physical world, and in this way the body manages to defend itself. We are vulnerable first on the psychic plane, and gradually this weakness spreads to the physical body. »
« Knowledge is growing in all fields and we meet an ever-increasing number of educated and cultivated people. This poses the question, however, as to why, despite all this progress, humankind is not improving. On the contrary even, the number of delinquents, criminals and mentally ill is growing. The answer is in fact very simple, because despite being educated, people continue to live in the same disorderly, dishonest and senseless way as the uneducated, or worse even because their learning has given them a greater capability to do so. The knowledge they accumulate remains theoretical since they do not think that they could draw lessons from it to improve their inner life. This is why the only faculty that human beings truly lack is that of using their knowledge to transform themselves, to spiritualize, enlighten their inner being. Educated people abound, all there is a shortage of is people who have decided to work on themselves. »
« Establish an ideal of perfection in your head. But make sure the sole aim of this desire to perfect yourself is not merely for your own evolution; it must also be useful, beneficial for the world as a whole. This is how things should progress from now on. Up until now all spiritual teachings have more or less led human beings along the path of individual salvation: knowledge, powers, revelations, spiritual people acquired these benefits solely for their own good. This is why they remained isolated, hidden in some cave or monastery in order to be left undisturbed by the goings-on of the outside world. This philosophy has since become outmoded.
The new philosophy teaches the quest for personal perfection, but without cutting yourself off from others. Quite to the contrary in fact: you should accept inconvenience, make sacrifices, suffer even, but be useful. To perfect yourself in order to be useful to the collectivity, this is true perfection. »
« In the physical realm, human beings have made gigantic achievements: we cannot help but see how scientific and technical progress has transformed life. But this is not enough, and humanity is now called upon to realise achievements that are still more important, more vital for them, by means of the faculties of the spirit. Through meditation and prayer, they must learn to make a relationship with the world of the spirit, so that the light, love, and power of the spirit descends upon the earth, within them, and upon those beings around them. Scientific and technical progress has limits, and even presents dangers. If all these discoveries are not made to serve a higher vision of things, humanity will be overwhelmed and crushed by them. Scientific and technical achievements are not sufficient to transform life. It is by means of the spirit that life will be truly transformed, because peace, freedom, and brotherhood are realisations of the spirit.. »

Economy
« To understand economics you should listen to the lessons Nature teaches. You will say: "But Nature teaches us nothing about economics. All this vegetation, all these animals, all these human beings who for billions of years have been coming into the world only to die some time later, what a waste! What purpose have all these lives served?" None, of course, in the sense you understand the word "serve". But all these lives have a purpose in the economy of the cosmos.
Nature has never had a problem with the billions of bodies (human, animal, and vegetable) cluttering up the place. They return to the earth and so give birth to other living beings. But look at the problems human beings have in disposing of their waste. They have produced materials which, once used, do not decompose naturally and so pollute the earth, the water and the air...
You will say: "But surely these plastics, these batteries, petrol, nuclear energy, all represent great progress."
Of course, I do not deny that. But as they produced these symbols of progress, they should have thought of the difficulties these would bring when it comes to finding ways of neutralizing them. »

But what is this economy, in which we find it acceptable to sacrifice human beings? The economy may be magnificent, it may be flourishing, while human beings, worn out and overwhelmed, are in a state of collapse. They destroy their nervous systems, and this is not all: their hearts, their stomachs, and their lungs suffer as well, because all this activity, all this production and accelerated consumption bring with it pollution which poisons the atmosphere, the seas, forests, water, earth, food, and so on. Where is the intelligence in this? What has happened to reason? An "economy" which spoils, destroys, pollutes, and squanders, is this a true economy? » (New)

Money, possessions, and true wealth
« Money and possessions have always been a cause of division and confrontation for human beings. Just look at what happens in families, at the many dramas resulting from problems of inheritance.
Greed and lust are the cause of permanent conflict not only in families, but in society and in countries. Yes indeed, the desire always to have more lies at the heart of any war. Whatever the motives people attribute to a war (and these are often very noble) the true motive is always to go and take something from the neighbour, be it money or land. If only people could be less self-interested, more generous, so many conflicts would be avoided.
There is nothing wrong with wanting possessions, but this should not be at the detriment of others. And those who are rich should not keep everything for themselves; they should learn to redistribute this wealth.
No being is richer than the Lord and his best representative on earth is the sun. The sun is so rich he overflows and he must distribute his riches so as to avoid exploding. Why not do like the sun? If not with material wealth, which you may well not have, then with spiritual riches.»

Matter is so diverse and so rich that there will always be things to see, hear, touch, taste, accumulate and so on. And with all its scientific and technological advances, the modern age has become a giddy descent of the human consciousness into the denseness of matter. But even if matter is inexhaustible, it can ultimately satisfy only physical needs and there will therefore come a time when people will begin to feel satiated and feel the need to elevate themselves to the spiritual regions. They will feel that by returning to the heights, they will find all the riches they had to leave behind when descending into matter. And not only will they find riches, but, thanks to a better understanding, they will be able to benefit fully from all they have acquired in the physical plane, where there is so much to study, work on and enjoy. »

"Human beings are so different in the ways they express and conduct themselves! Some are forever motivated to go further and to achieve great things, whereas others are exclusively occupied with trivialities and pettiness. We ask ourselves: ‘But what is the reason for this difference? Where does it come from?’ The answer is very simple. Those in the first example look upward; they compare themselves with all those who have surpassed them, and they take them as models. Whereas the others are satisfied with points of comparison so inferior that they always find themselves quite acceptable and they fail to progress. In order to evolve, we must find a model, an example, and never stop comparing ourselves to it. This model is to be found in the life and teaching of all the purest, wisest and most noble beings who have lived on earth and who live there today."

Some words about vegetarianism
The subject of the vegetarianism is very vast, wide. We content here with sketching only some of the numerous aspects.
The reasons which bring people to the vegetarianism are numerous and varied: food pollutions, hygiene, allergies, medical reasons, emotional, sentimental, ethical, scientific, philosophic reasons, creeds, etc. In other words, regime vegetarian can so concern or interest many people, as well materialists as spiritualists, having very different motivations.
Biology teaches us that the digestive tract of carnivores is short, so as to allow a fast elimination of toxins produced with the meat and with its fermentations.
On the contrary, the digestive tract of herbivores is much longer. As for the digestive tract of the human being, it has an intermediate size, which predisposes him rather to a diet frugivore (fruits, vegetables, cereal, dairies, eggs, etc.). On the other hand, medical studies demonstrated that an insufficient contribution of vegetable fibers in our food is at the origin of a certain number of diseases.
The vegetarianism is a rule of life which must not be imposed, which must not be forced, at the risk of unbalance as well psychic as physical. This discipline requires a serious reflection which has to end little by little in a freely granted decision; because it is not enough to simply remove the meat of meals. On the contrary, to keep or to protect a food balance it is indispensable to replace the meat by different vegetable proteins. On the other hand, the assimilation of proteins is favored by a way of life bringing in the sun, sun light, pure air, nature and some particular spiritual activities. Passage or transition in the vegetarianism comes along generally with a change of way of life, an adaptation, a transformation of certain customs (One makes it in a precise purpose). It is very important that these modifications should made with full knowledge of the facts, in the harmony, and as being the result of a free choice. Personal motivations and state of mind are determining factors for the success of these changes.

« Any creature has a determined food, which is specific, particular to him. This food determines its state, its level and its behavior. It explains a quantity of things which one observes in the nature. There are two great eaters' categories: carnivores and herbivores. And the question is: to know if it is better to eat some meat or to be a vegetarian.
All that one introduces into the body acts on all the cells, on all the organs, on the nerve centres, on the liquids and the fluids; that is, not only on the physical side, but to subtle plans too. It is false to believe that one can introduce everything into his body and nevertheless to become a great very pure thinker and totally master of himself, to get hold of oneself.»
« A great difference between these both foods (vegetable and meat-based) lies in the quantity of sunbeams which they contain. Vegetables, fruits in particular, are filled with solar light energy. They are, in a sense, a condensation. They have absorbed the energy of the sun, the heavenly or sky light; whereas the meat is not a porter of these subtle and alive forces.»
« You do not feed only on the physical plan. After a good meal, you feel a sensation, a feeling of satisfaction, of wellfare, of well-being, because your desire to eat was satisfied. At this moment, why do you feel other desires, for example the one of hearing affectionate and kind words? A woman swamped or satisfied with the best material foods of the body can nevertheless remain starving, unsatisfied; she suffocates because her soul is hungry... Higher still in your being, you strive for other foods: beauty, colours, harmony, music, poetry... You need subtle and intimate sensations. You would like to pray and to contemplate. You feel the need to receive foods on all the plans, in all domains. And as all the beings, from subordinate to sublime, from insect to archangel, choose the food which is convenient for them, which even characterize them and is specific to them. Then the level of the human being corresponds to the foods that he requires and that he prefers. You are what you eat. You are also your way of eating.»
« Did you think of what feel the animals which one leads to the slaughterhouse? They are sensitive, sometimes more sensitive than the man. Which fear, which terror, which dismay and which revolt shake them and disturb them! They feel what waits for them. They cannot express it, but their glands react, secrete and excrete humors loaded with their hatred and with their fear. And it is a real poison that they spread in their blood at first, then in all the cells of their body. This poison, the spiritual Masters know it, and the scholars or scientists will discover it soon. Every disciple or follower has to be careful to become aware, conscious of what happens in him, according to what he eats, drinks and breathes. This poison, which is the product of the fear, cannot be neutralized or eliminated from some meat: neither by cooking, nor by washing. It spreads and acts in the body of the man. So fear and hatred which invade the animal as it is going to be killed, soak, through this poison, atoms and molecules of the physical body of the man and influence his etheric, astral and mental bodies. So the man becomes more and more similar to the animal. Besides, this poison causes or produces diseases and it shortens the life of the human being.»
« To eat some meat, one kills animals. So, one breaks or violate the law: "You shall not kill." This malpractice does not stay without consequences... Do you not think that the malpractice of this law can be at the origin of wars in the world?... "One harvests what one sowed..." »

To justify the fact of eating some meat, people argue: "The meat gives some force!"
Then, how to explain that the lion is incapable to pursue for a long time its prey? Why is he fast tired, so so quickly exhausted? Why has he no stamina? Why can the gazelle run much longer without getting too much tired?
Why animals used for the works of force (agriculture, forested works, are transport) every vegetarians?
- Horses, asses, mules, oxen, beefs, cows,...
- Dromedaries, camels, llamas, alpacas...

Why is the meat kept or preserved with more difficulty than vegetables?

« Eating is a process by which we introduce into our body elements that will contribute to the building not only of our physical, but also of our subtle bodies. It is thus particularly important that this act - which we repeat every day, several times a day - be accomplished in a peaceful and harmonious state. That is why I always stress the importance of meditating a few minutes before meals. I know that it is not a very widespread habit; most people do not even say a prayer: they instantly go at the food, and wolf it down while talking, squabbling, shoving the utensils around... That is why they obtain no great benefits from food: they absorb only its crude elements. To be able to absorb the subtle elements of food, the etheric elements that contribute also to the nourishment of our thoughts and feelings, we must be prepared to eat in a harmonious and meditative state. »

Causes of illnesses: the impurities
« Illnesses can have all kinds of causes, but in reality what lies at the basis of an illness, of whatever kind, are the impure elements a person has allowed to penetrate their physical organism or their psychic organism. These elements cause disorders because they do not vibrate in harmony with the healthy part of their organism. If, however, they succeed in driving them out or transforming them, health is restored. This is why purity is so important for our mental and physical health. And by purity I mean rejection of any element that interferes with the proper functioning of our organism. Unfortunately, as soon as people hear the word purity, they stop listening. Purity, to them, is a restricting concept, outmoded, good only for convents, and so they continue to swallow whatever comes along: indigestible food, polluted atmosphere, dark thoughts and chaotic feelings. When will they understand that it is these very impurities that make them ill? If they worked on purity their health would improve, they would become more intelligent, wiser and stronger. »

Definition of health: harmony
« Health is the result of the work all the organs of our body carry out together and in harmony for the good of our whole being. From the moment, therefore, an element enters our organism that does not obey this law of harmony it creates disturbances, and these disturbances, this disharmony is what we know as illness. The same phenomenon occurs in the psychic organism. When the thoughts, feelings and desires of human beings let in elements that do not vibrate in harmony with their entire inner being, they also let in illness. So, when you feel troubled, instead of looking for complicated reasons why you should feel this way, understand that you have allowed chaotic and dark thoughts and feelings into your head and your heart. Seek them out and try to eliminate them. »
« A person comes to seek my advice on her health: she has consulted all the doctors, taken every possible remedy, but there is no improvement. I tell her: "Since you have tried everything and nothing has worked, well now, try a remedy that you have not thought of. Harmonize yourself with the sublime creatures of the universe and tell them: 'I love you, I am in harmony with you, I want to accomplish the will of God...' and gradually you will feel an improvement." If people are sick, it is because they have troubled the inner order that nature has established within them. That is why they have to be taught some lessons, in order to learn to reestablish harmony. The whole universe sings this harmony, and the one who does not have respect for it is expelled. »

They are not in the least bit aware of the marvel their organism represents, in what workshops it was built, how much work the spirit put into it and how much it cost the Creator to perfect it. You will say you treat your physical body with care and respect. Maybe, but that is not enough. « One of people's main concerns nowadays is to be able to eat healthy food. It is of course highly desirable that food should not be contaminated, but it is also important for those people who are involved in its preparation to be aware that the food they handle becomes impregnated with their emanations and subsequently passes these on to those who eat it. People use their hands to prepare food and a person's hands magically transmit something of this person's quintessence. Chefs, cooks, bakers and all those people who prepare food for their families on a daily basis must know this law of chemistry and magic. With this knowledge they will then get into the habit of touching food, conscious that what they are holding in their hands will contribute to the edification of the body of people nearby and far away, persons known and persons unknown. This is a huge responsibility and it is therefore worthwhile for them to endeavour to be dwelling in the best inner state when they prepare food, fostering thoughts of good health, peace and light for those who are due to eat it. »

A good doctor, on the other hand, also points out rules of life to his patients and even some exercises by means of which they will establish balance, peace and harmony within themselves. Perspiring - exchanges
« Perspiring is good for your health. But perspiring physically, i.e. sweating, is not enough, and do not be surprised if I tell you that the soul and the spirit must also perspire. Love makes the soul perspire and wisdom makes the spirit perspire. Of course the word perspiring must be understood in a very wide sense. Perspiration symbolizes a perfect exchange that is established between the microcosm (humankind) and the macrocosm (the universe). Physically, these exchanges occur through the skin, as we discard waste and absorb energy through the skin. In the subtle plane, however, these exchanges occur through the aura, which is our spiritual skin. The circulation in all domains is an important element of health.
Numerous disturbances or freezings are at origin of numerous diseases. Then, exchanges do not work correctly any more and disorders appear.
For example, scars provoke dams interrupting circulations and exchanges. These obstacles are the cause of disorders which go in amplifying with the time. And so years later, diseases appear by disrupting the organs functioning which are in contact with the place of the scar...
In the body, there are numerous systems which all have to work harmoniously to be healthy: cardio-vascular system, lymphatic system, respiratory system, nervous system, digestive system, energy systems (knew of acupuncture, acupressure, reflexology), glandular or endocrinian system (closely connected to the system of chakras), etc... Each of these systems is in connection with one or several subtle bodies (etherical, astral, mental, causal, budda, atman,... body).
For example, the etheric body contains the meridian lines of acupuncture and the chakras of hinduism. The chakras are doors communicating and exchanging between the physical body and the other subtle bodies, which are seats of feelings, emotions and thoughts.
Circulation of life is a harmonious functioning of all these overlapping systems one in another and in constant interaction.

Fanaticism, a negation of true religion
« Some people are so convinced that God's good name is under attack that they are always taking up arms in His defence. As though the Lord were a weakling who needed to be defended! Well, this is what they seem to think: they go in fear and trembling that His reputation might be besmirched and are ready to defend it at all costs, so they issue their anathemas and persecute and burn and massacre. Why do they never ask the Lord what He thinks about it? They ought to begin by asking His permission:
- "Look at all these unbelievers, heretics and blasphemers, Lord; may we punish them? May we burn them at the stake or cut off their heads?"
But they don't pray or ask the Lord what He thinks about it. They don't want to ask because they are not sincere. The Lord is Love and they have no desire to hear His answer:
- "No, leave them alone. It's none of your business! If they are really wicked they will come to a bad end without any help from you."
In spite of their claim to take up arms in defence of the Lord, they don't really care a jot for what He thinks about it. Do you really believe that these people are defending the Lord? Not a bit of it! They are simply defending their own affairs, their own prestige, influence and authority. What hypocrisy!
If they really wanted to defend the Lord they should do as He does and manifest patience and love. »

Do not try to impose your own convictions
« It sometimes happens that some members of a family show signs of spiritual aspiration while the others fail to understand this and even try to oppose it. To do this is riot very intelligent. You cannot prevent a soul from being drawn to the light, for the soul is a daughter of God. No one else has any rights over it. For this reason it is better to curb your irritation and accept the situation. Tell yourself that if one member of a family finds spiritual enrichment the whole family will benefit from it.
To be fair, I should say that it is really up to those who wish to embrace the spiritual life to be as reasonable and conciliatory as possible. They must never make it an excuse for neglecting their family duties, or boring others with their pious talk!
On the contrary, they will need to use all their compassion and intelligence to keep the family united and persuade them of the rightness and sincerity of their aspirations. Only by being open and broad-minded and without fanaticism will they demonstrate that they have found truth.
Those who are forever trumpeting that they have found truth very rarely have, and only succeed in making themselves ridiculous and irksome to everyone else. It is through tenderness, patience and kindness that we can lead those who are dear to us in the path of truth. »

Are there limits to freedom of expression?
« When a man trespasses on private property, fails to pay his bills, punches or insults someone, the law is there to condemn and punish him.
But if, by his writings, speeches or example, he destroys the faith, hope and love of thousands, or incites them to vice and violence, the law has nothing to say about it. Everyone is free to express his thoughts and desires, however depraved they may be, without a thought for the effect they might have on the fate of those who are weaker and more easily influenced. When some jewellery is stolen or some windows are broken it is a serious matter and must be stopped,... but when the souls and spirits of men are plunged into doubt, revolt or anguish it is not important?... And so the most dangerous criminals go about their business in complete freedom; in fact, if they happen to be artists, writers or film producers, they are awarded prizes! The spiritual health of society does not count; no one will raise a finger to prevent it from being damaged or destroyed, but the full force of the law, the police, courts, prisons and magistrates, are always on the alert to protect physical, material property.
You will say, "But good heavens! People must be able to express their ideas freely. In the days when thinkers philosophers and artists were persecuted it was no better."
That is true, I know. Until human beings are in possession of the criteria that will enable them to judge what is truly good or evil, it is certainly better to allow everybody to express themselves. But I want to draw the attention of all creators to their responsibility in this respect. I say to them: take care, you have the good fortune to be free, but freedom is not a goal in itself and it is your duty to think about the effect your works will have on others. You must realize that although the law of the land may leave you alone, divine law will hold you responsible.
When you get to the next world and are made to see all the damage you have done to others, it will be useless for you to protest that it was not your fault if those people suffered. You will be told: "Yes it was; they suffered because of you. It was you who created chaos in their hearts and minds; it was you who egged them on to try all kinds of experiences and failed to warn them of the dangers involved. You are guilty and will be punished."
You must use your gifts to enlighten others, to spark their love and trust and a desire to be better. Otherwise, not only will you be punished but in a future incarnation you will be deprived of those gifts. »

Is Capital Punishment a Solution?
« Capital punishment, the death sentence, is a frequent topic of discussion. Judges, psychiatrists and sociologists give us the statistics and talk about their observations and conclusions on radio and television programmes, and public opinion remains divided. Some think that the worst criminals should be executed so as to deter those who are tempted to imitate them; others retort that the fear of death has never deterred a criminal and, above all, that no human being has the right to decide the death of another. And so the debate goes on endlessly. Unfortunately, even the greatest authorities have no very clear ideas on the question, because their understanding of the structure of the universe and of human beings does not include the spiritual dimension.
Obviously, if you execute a criminal, society will be rid of him on the physical plane. Yes, but what people fail to realize is that he is still alive on the subtle planes, and on those planes his desire for destruction and revenge is as strong as ever. The desires of a criminal are not killed by the death of his physical body, because they don't belong to the physical plane. Once he is dead, therefore, a criminal becomes active on the astral and lower mental planes and the evil is amplified. His influence seeps into the minds and hearts of all those on earth whose criminal tendencies create an affinity with him, and through them he attempts to continue his evil work. In fact, he has even more scope after death for he is no longer limited by his physical body and can act through many different people. If people advocate capital punishment as a solution to the problem of crime, therefore, it is because they don't know that a criminal's spirit continues to be active after his death.
The same phenomenon occurs, of course, when a prophet or a great spiritual Master is assassinated: his ideas spread even more rapidly. In fact, this is why, when the criticism of an outspoken religious or political figure becomes an embarrassment to a government, and those in power are tempted to eliminate him, they know that they have to be very careful about how they do it. To make a martyr of a popular hero only serves to exacerbate the fury of his followers and make the position of his executioners even more precarious. They know that when you kill a man you don't kill his ideology, for others take it up and it becomes more vigorous than ever. You will say: "But that is only because his partisans or disciples are infuriated at the death of their leader and are fired with greater enthusiasm to carry on his work." There is some truth in that, of course, but it is an interpretation which remains on the surface of things.
The truth is that when the spirit of a prophet or an Initiate reaches the next world he continues to hold the same convictions and to nourish the same desire to enlighten human beings and help them to evolve. So he goes on with his work in conditions which give him a far better chance of propagating his ideas. This is why the death of certain Initiates did nothing to hinder their ideas from spreading. You only have to look at the extraordinary expansion of Christianity after the death of Jesus.
Criminals should not be punished by death, therefore, because of the consequences on the invisible plane. It is up to human beings to make sure that the conditions of life are such that there will be no more evil-doers. But as long as society is not built on true spiritual foundations it can only be a swamp, and swamps are always a breeding ground for mosquitoes... that is to say, criminals. In these conditions it is an illusion to think that justice can ever be done. »
« Killing a person does not eradicate their ideology, because others will take it up and it will live on with even greater momentum. In the other world, the spirit of a prophet or a martyr continues to hold the same convictions, the same desire to enlighten human beings and to help them evolve. While he was on earth, it was not possible for him to meet everyone capable of taking in his ideas, because these people were too dispersed; but once on the astral plane, he is free to seek them out and influence them. This is why the death of certain Initiates can often enhance the propagation of their ideas.
By remaining on earth, of course, a Master can work, act, and serve as a model, but his influence is limited to a very small number of people: those who surround him, who approach him, who know him. But once disengaged from his physical body, he can rouse a far great number of spirits. This does not mean that he must have himself massacred in order to have more influence. No, but it is useful for you to know the laws governing the material and spiritual worlds. »
« When one kills a man, one destroys really only his prison: the physical body. If you think of being freed of somebody by killing him physically, you make a mistake. That is why the capital punishment is not a good solution; because it is as to break a bottle in which is contained a poison gas. If the bottle is broken, the poison spreads in the world and causes there the biggest damages. One guillotined for example a dangerous murderer; really one only killed his body, but his soul did not die. Now he turns out free in the invisible world, he is going to visit certain number of people, rather criminals as he. He tries to infiltrate in their head to suggest them the abominable projects which, because of his death, he had not yet been able to carry out, and so he produces more evil than when he was still in his body of flesh. »

Yoga and Religion
All the religions have their yoga, even Christianity.
In sanscrit, the word Yoga results from the root "youj", word which means: connection, link, union.
On the other hand, the word Religion comes from the Latin "religare", word which means: to connect, to join, to unite.
Now, yoga, as religion, have both this same purpose to unite the individual spirit of the man with the great Spirit: God.
In our materialist civilization, people tend to remove in the yoga its spiritual dimension. So, by throwing back the main thing, by rejecting the essential, it remains there often only the bark, such an empty bowl.
Yoga declares that it is possible to unite with the original Cause of the existence, which we call God. Yoga does not claim to be a religion. It does not offer either to be a better one instrument than religion.
Correctly understood, religion itself is a shape of yoga. Because it has also for purpose the union, the fusion of the creature with his Creator: God.
Yoga is the practical side of the religion. For example, Christianity is called Bakhti-yoga; it is the yoga of the divine love, the yoga of the worship.
Some yogas are not adapted any more to our current way of life, or to our mentality. What was valid in India, there were millenniums ago, does not give any more the same results in our current civilization. Certain exercises must be adapted to our psychic mentality and adapted according to the region, to the environment, with the climate. They require also the advices of a spiritual guide.

« Jesus said: "I and the Father are one!" To be able to pronounce a similar sentence, Jesus had had to make a gigantic work. And it is this work that we have to make, we also, after him, by following his example. The one for that this identification becomes really a reality lives in the plenitude. God is in us, as his Realm is in us. If you become aware that you are inseparable of the Creator, you will feel that you see there more and more clear to resolve your problems and especially to do good around you. Whereas if you are far, you will be abandoned to your only resources which are very limited. Then, poor Christians who do not want to accept this way that Jesus drew for them! They must know that certain Indians exceeded them in the understanding. When they have a practice, they learn to meditate on the formula: "I am He" and they pronounce it so that it becomes in them flesh and bone. At this moment their small and limited I does not exist any more, it is only He, the Lord, which exists in them, and from this moment, they can make miracles. »
« Be aware that if you identify yourself with your physical body, the notion of death will take the upper hand. The physical body is vulnerable, it weakens, it becomes ill and dies, and if you identify yourself with it, if you seek nothing beyond that, you will stay weak, lightless and sickly all your life, until in the end you disappear. Identify yourself with your spirit, because the spirit is powerful, luminous, indestructible and immortal. You will then become like your spirit, invulnerable. This is the benefit a spiritual philosophy brings. It is all a question of looking at things in the right way. Unfortunately, for centuries human beings have been brought up on ideas that weaken them and destroy them. This is what they call education! But who forces us to continue to accept them? We must replace these old ideas with other, new ideas, ideas that give life, power, strength and elevation, so that we can come ever closer to the Deity. »
« There are rules established by the Cosmic Intelligence which we all have to know and respect. Many of you will think: "But if we have to conform to the same standards, we shall become every fellow men, as objects of series." - No, do not worry, you will stay any various; because not having the same temperaments, the same faculties, the same qualities, you cannot all be attracted or enticed by the same methods. Look for example at the various yogas which the Masters of India propose to their followers:
* Radja yoga, the self-control;
* Karma yoga, the selfless activity, unselfishness, altruism;
* Hatha yoga, the mastery of the physical body;
* Kriya yoga, the work with the light;
* Laya yoga, the development of the force Kundalini;
* Bakhti yoga, the way of love and fire; (the Christian religion)
* Jnani-yoga, the yoga of knowledge;
* etc...
So, as followers, we can follow various yogas, but all these yogas have the same purpose: to learn us to rise to get closer to this universal principle of the truth. »
